THE LIGHTHOUSE, THE STORM

OUT NOW–LISTEN PRODUCED BY JEFF SAENZ

Los Angeles via Dallas, TX indie art rock five-piece About You shares four new live session videos pulled from recent debut album The Lighthouse, The Storm out now. About You's bandleader Max Poscente is notably joined by close collaborator and producer, Jeff Saenz, recorded live from Modern Electric Studios in their hometown, Dallas TX.

The latest live session by About You includes four fresh live videos including "What if I Could," "Farewell to Ghosts," "MoNa" and "Sunny." Poscente is thrilled to bring new life to the recorded album through newly shared live sessions. He adds, "We wanted to capture what it was like to record live in the studio where we made the album, in Modern Electric Sound Recorders. I think there’s a sense of return in these videos, recording a live-takes of these songs we worked years crafting. The recordings are intricate but at the heart of them are songs we really believe in, and this live performance showcases their potency.

The album out now, produced by Saenz, was born from demos dating back to 2019. About halfway through recording at Saenz's Dallas studio Modern Electric in 2021, Saenz suffered a near-fatal accident that led to the amputation of both his hands. Between FaceTime calls and surgeries, the pair continued to create with deep gratitude and a newfound love for each other and life.

On the album, Poscente shares, "In a way, there’s the music we recorded before and after the accident — and to me, they each have their own distinct feeling. While some songs were adaptations of stories people sent in (which is part of why we’re called About You), every song also dealt with deeply personal material. Packed with vulnerability and longing, this album became a recovery vessel for both Jeff and me. Over the next five years, we poured our hearts and souls into it."

The album boasts an accomplished list of musicians including Ian Chang (drums - Son Lux and Moses Sumney), Scott Lee (bass - Texas Gentlemen, Ryan Bingham), Jason Burt (keys, drums programming - Leon Bridges, producer extraordinaire), McKenzie Smith (drums - St. Vincent, Midlake), Scott Tixier (string composer - Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Adele, Hans Zimmer, Beyoncé, Jon Batiste), and Bradley Barteau (Snooper).

Indie rock with influence from power pop and industrial hip hop, "Master Plan" emerged during a roadtrip across the U.S. as Poscente moved out of Boston. The music video was written and directed by Jake Weissman and James Wyatt, the assistant director of Everything Everywhere All At Once.

Written when Poscente was just 21 and living in Boston, “Sunny” was born out of long winters and suicidal ideation. It sees the musician find hope as it blends raw intimacy, the textural pulse of trip hop, and flashes of hyperpop emotion. Its glitchy drum textures and swelling synths cradle Poscente’s voice as it reaches for warmth beyond despair.

In September, About You shared a video for "What if I Could" that was made with mainstay Wes Anderson collaborators (Gerald Sullivan - Director, Robert Yeoman - Director of Photography, Caris Yeoman - Production Assistant). Made in just two days, the result speaks for itself. The video has rapidly surpassed a half million views.

Ones to Watch writes on the "cinematic" "God Don't Let Me Lose My Mind," "Vulnerability is at the forefront of this track and this raw nature is conveyed through its intense production and sequencing." New Noise Magazine calls the band "homespun, [with] unique style," adding "Farewell to Ghosts"

"[Blends] alt-rock with psychedelic elements and an unbridled energy, the song finds the emotion of someone else’s story and gets it across beautifully."

About You has had a breakout year, earning 617K+ streams in six weeks, 2.4M+ total catalog streams, multiple U.S. headlining tours, and their first sold-out show in Mexico City.
