Speaking about the story behind the song, EMiDORA shares; ‘‘are you sure you wanna see this?’ is about a friendship where you are ride or die for the other person but they aren’t the same for you. It’s about struggling with your loyalty to a person after they have hurt you and wondering whether you should hurt them in return.”
That tension sits at the heart of the track. EMiDORA’s production leans into innovative electronic textures with candid, emotionally charged lyrics, creating a juxtaposition of upbeat melodies and introspective themes.
As an emerging voice in the alternative electronic-pop space, EMiDORA is steadily building recognition for her distinctive sound and lyrical depth. With support from BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 1 Dance, BBC Radio 1, Notion and DMY, industry tastemakers are already paying attention.
Following the single’s release, EMiDORA will bring her vibrant live show to three upcoming dates - one on March 1st at Mist Rolling Inn, Nottingham and on March 13th at The Artisan Tap, Stoke-on-Trent and on March 31st at The Lower Third, London.. Known for bold, high-impact performances that mirror the intensity of her recordings, these shows offer an early chance to experience the world she is building ahead of her June EP.
With ‘are you sure you wanna see this?’, EMiDORA sets the tone for what’s to come - further establishing herself as one of the most compelling new voices emerging in alternative electronic-pop.

More on EMiDORA…
Growing up, EMiDORA was bombarded with her parents’ chaotic music tastes, ranging from Mozart to Destiny’s Child, Jack Johnson to Arctic Monkeys. By age seven, it was clear EMiDORA was musically gifted as she began playing the violin, shortly followed by the clarinet. However, the struggle with communicating her emotions overshadowed her childhood, and she immersed herself in internet culture as a form of escapism.
Making her way through her teenage years against a backdrop of Troye Sivan, Halsey and Years & Years, EMiDORA’s style began to take shape as an amalgamation of pop-punk, alternative, and RnB vocal melodies against electronic instrumentals. Inspired by boundary-pushing artists similar to Charli XCX, Grimes, and Magdalena Bay, she leans into experimental pop worlds that mix emotional honesty with glitchy, euphoric production.
Her vocals have permeated the East Midlands music scene, with collaborations landing her in the top 30 most-played artists of BBC Introducing in the East Midlands in 2021 and 2023 and 2025. She has played several BBC Introducing Stages, been featured on BBC Radio 1 and has played multiple festivals across the East Midlands including YNot Festival and Splendour Fest. Her previous single has received support from BBC Radio 1 Dance and BBC 6.
