Serial Killers Return with Moody New Single “High Energy” Out Now

Serial Killers Return with Moody New Single “High Energy” Out Today, February 13
Xzibit, B-Real of Cypress Hill, Demrick and Scoop DeVille present a sleek, slow-burning West Coast cut from their upcoming album This Thing of Ours
Hip-hop supergroup Serial Killers - composed of legendary rappers Xzibit, B-Real of Cypress Hill, and Demrick - return with their new single “High Energy,” arriving today February 13 via Ineffable Records.
Despite its explosive title, “High Energy” reveals a different kind of power. The track checks every box of a classic hip-hop record while flipping the script with a distinctly modern edge. Rooted in that unmistakable West Coast DNA, it unfolds over a slow-burning, minor-key groove that feels both sultry and subtly menacing.
“High Energy” is the fourth single off Serial Killers’ forthcoming album This Thing of Ours, set for release April 10 on Ineffable Records. The album marks the group’s fifth official release and features guest appearances from Public Enemy’s Chuck D.
The project is produced entirely by Scoop DeVille, whose resume includes countless hit records for artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Eminem, 50 Cent, and more. His signature blend of West Coast polish and contemporary style provides a cohesive backbone for the album, elevating the trio’s dynamic interplay.
Last month, Serial Killers released the title track “This Thing of Ours”, following earlier singles “SK Anthem” and “Call the Cops”, each offering a glimpse into the album’s range - from gritty street anthems to refined, head-nodding cuts. With “High Energy”, the group leans into atmosphere and restraint, proving their versatility while staying rooted in their legacy sound.
Individually, each member continues to build on an already formidable career. Xzibit recently released his first solo album in 13 years, featuring appearances from Dr. Dre, Busta Rhymes, Ice Cube, Redman, B-Real, Ty Dolla $ign, and more. B-Real is coming off Cypress Hill’s Dank Daze of Summer Tour and a landmark performance of their classic album Black Sunday live at the Royal Albert Hall with the London Symphony Orchestra. Demrick recently dropped his latest solo album Ooowee, featuring Xzibit, B-Real, Coyote, K.A.A.N., and more.
Formed by three distinct yet complementary voices in hip-hop, Serial Killers have built a catalog that bridges eras of West Coast rap. From Serial Killers Vol. 1 (2013) and The Murder Show (2015) to Day of the Dead (2018) and Summer of Sam (2020), the group continues to balance legacy with evolution.
This Thing of Ours the album arrives April 10 on Ineffable Records.
