Pausing the hush of intimate piano work to lean into movement and expansion, long‑standing collaborator with Doves, Peter Hook and The Light and Echo and The Bunnymen, established composer, Rebelski releases his new single, Momentum — OUT NOW. A transformative new composition that signals growth, energy and forward motion within his evolving sonic landscape, the track’s motorik charge forces a path for Algorithms, Rebelski’s new album now confirmed for release on Fri 13 March 2026.
Opening in a state of quiet anticipation, Momentum slowly emerges from a bed of atmospheric synthesis. An evolving modular melody establishes space and restraint before gradually accumulating weight and texture, unfolding into a radiant, uplifting piece of electronica. The transition is deliberate and patient, mirroring the track’s title with a sense of subtle thrust earned rather than forced.
Written, recorded, and produced over 12 months between touring commitments, Rebelski’s Algorithms follows two of his most recent works, 2023’s Simplicity and 2024’s Monochrome to complete a purposeful trilogy. Recorded in studios and outdoor spaces across Manchester, Barcelona and Shropshire, the album incorporates field recordings of humanity, wildlife, and the natural world as well as specialist, close-quarters techniques that capturing the non-replicable mechanical elements of Rebelski’s tool of trade. The piano, complete with hammer strikes, pedal thuds, finger movements and breath.
Positioned precisely at the halfway point of the 10-track album, Momentum functions as a narrative hinge. Where much of the record is rooted in introspective, piano‑led minimalism, the first single from the album marks the moment the music stretches, accelerates and explores new terrain. Stillness gives way to motion. Reflection moves to progression.
Reflecting on a deeply intimate and reflective experience, Rebelski says: “We live in an era defined by targeted ads, content recommendation, and behaviour-tracking overload. With ‘Algorithms’, I worked towards creating a musical reflection on these manufactured narratives. The intention is an analogue, human-first counterpoint to an increasingly automated culture. Through current recording techniques and the use of modular synths, the album mixes elements of modernity with a deep respect for traditional methodology.”
Having travelled extensively to bring the music of past albums to a growing community of willing deep listeners in towns and cities throughout the UK, Rebelski has announced the following, intimate record shop-linked performances for February 2026:
