SAINT MOTEL ANNOUNCE FIRST INDEPENDENT ALBUM, AFTERGLOW, OUT OCTOBER 10

(Los Angeles, CA) September 12, 2025 -  Acclaimed indie-pop band Saint Motel will release their highly anticipated new album, Afterglow, on October 10. The record’s lead single, “Wait & See,” is available today on all streaming platforms.

Afterglow serves as a companion piece and full-length follow-up to the band’s February 2025 LP Symphony in the Sky (Atlantic Records), which Consequence praised as “an exuberant collection… that spans a broad range of emotions, temperatures, and textures.” Designed as a sweeping “second movement,” Afterglow, Saint Motel’s first fully independent project since leaving Atlantic Records after 13 years, continues the story established with Symphony in the Sky, pushing the band’s sonic and emotional journey forward.

“Symphony in the Sky was created during seasons of profound change - of gaining and losing those dearest to us, of standing face-to-face with our own impermanence, and within it, discovering a quiet, hidden beauty,” shares frontman A/J Jackson. “When we finally had a short break from touring, with several songs already in motion and more to say in this world we’d built, we thought, ‘what if we actually made a full companion album, a second movement of the symphony?’ Which brings us here. Introducing Afterglow.”

With Afterglow, Saint Motel explores impermanence, turbulence, and hidden beauty while reflecting the uncertainty of our times. Jackson continues: “Like in one of our favorite compositions, Beethoven’s 7th Symphony, it’s often the second movement that slips free of time and space, carrying us into something greater than ourselves. Afterglowbegins precisely where Symphony in the Sky ends, each album completing the other and bringing this chapter of our band’s existence to its final cadence.”

Afterglow was written and produced by A/J Jackson and will be released independently with distribution from TooLost on October 10, 2025.

Joyfully blurring genres, Saint Motel showcase an opulent sound complimentary to their ambitious scope. Streamed and viewed over half-a-billion times, the platinum-selling Los Angeles quartet magnify this vision with immersive live experiences and one unpredictable move after another. The group initially came together at film school before introducing themselves on 2012’s Voyeur. Signing to Elektra, their 2014 My Type EP boasted both the gold-certified title track “My Type” and fan favorite “Cold Cold Man.” In 2016, saintmotelevision yielded the smash “Move.” Flipping the script once again, the musicians reimagined the record with a series of history-making first-of-their-kind innovations: an award-winning Virtual Reality version and an Augmented Reality version. First up, they uncovered The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Pt. 1 powered by the shimmy and shake of Alternative Top 15 lead single “Van Horn.” Between packing houses coast to coast on headline jaunts and earning acclaim from People, Billboard, and more, the four-piece rolled out Pt. 2 throughout 2020. Fans received the full picture of Saint Motel’s vision with the complete The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack studio album in 2021. Last year, the band released a handful of radiant singles, “Fine Wine,” “Everyone’s A Guru,” “Slowly Spilling Out,” marking their first new music since 2021. The band kickstarted a new era in 2024 with “Stay Golden,” and in February 2025 released their fourth studio album Symphony In The Sky, via Atlantic.
