On October 10th, Echo Thrills will release his debut album The Inner City through Superbloom Records and B3SCI Records. The eleven tracks are a sonic exploration of modern urban life, capturing the frenetic pace, relentless stress, and exhilarating energy of big city living in the 21st century. Following two EPs and multiple singles, The Inner City expands on Echo Thrills sound combining modern soul, disco, and psychedelic-pop with electronic samples and an indie flair.
Having shared singles “Last Call” and “Orange,” today Echo Thrills unveils the anthem of The Inner City, “Technology.” The song gives off the perfect end of summer vibe, infusing a trip-hop influence and hypnotizing lyrics about feeling disconnected to present day. Inspired by New York City in the 1990s, The Inner City delves into the raw energy, gritty realism, and unapologetic embrace of art and commerce that defined the era. The record is a tapestry of contrasts, portraying the beauty and ugliness, hope and despair, and the coexistence of inspiration and superficiality, offering a poignant reflection of the times we live in. Based out of Stockholm, Sweden, Echo Thrills aka Oskar Jennefors, began releasing music in 2023 and quickly hit a stride with single “Temptation,” with the song now sitting at over 2 million global streams. The tracks in Jennefors’ repertoire are characterized by distinct grooves, swirly baselines, and playful psychedelic elements that transport you to a universe of his own creation.
