ALEXANDRA JOHN DROPS FEEL-GOOD SUMMER ANTHEM “FANCY”
OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO COMING SOON
"FANCY" FOLLOWS 2025 SINGLES “TAKING OFF,” ITS REMIX BY GRAMMY-WINNING PRODUCER DAVE AUDÉ, AND “ME & YOU”
As the summer heat lingers and late-night flings turn into lasting memories, Indie-Pop duo Alexandra John – comprised of twin siblings Liza and Weston Cain - are back with their newest single, “Fancy,” a vibey, retro-inspired jam to close out the season in style.
Delivering a nostalgic groove tailor-made for dancing barefoot at golden hour, “Fancy” is available via all DSPs now. The official video for the song will premiere soon after.
“I started this track a while back wanting to get a funky, throwback feel with a modern twist,” shares Weston.
“Immediately, I knew it was about something shiny and fun while keeping a message with depth. I think people will have a great time with the song while being able to sing it with their special someone.”
“Fancy” is a celebration of romance and a reminder that material things can never compare to genuine connection. It’s for anyone who might appreciate the finer things in life but all they truly want is the person they fancy (and who fancies them). After all, being adored for who you are will always be worth more than anything you can wear or buy.
“I had a lot of fun singing this song,” shares Liza.
“It felt like an alter ego of myself was unleashed in this world we created. Everyone wants to be someone’s fancy. Everyone wants to be loved and adored. If one chooses to shower you with gifts, of course, that’s lovely, but there’s nothing better than a mutual expression of affection.”
Crafted with funky bass licks, spacey synths, and a breezy, danceable rhythm, “Fancy” blends the shimmer of disco with the charm of vintage pop. It’s the band’s third single this year, following their previously released tracks, “Taking Off” and “Me & You.”
Based in Los Angeles, Liza and Weston grew up immersed in music. Liza honed her skills in singing, acting, and dancing, while Weston, a seasoned instrumentalist, started playing drums at age four and later added guitar and piano to his repertoire. Together - as Alexandra John - Liza and Weston draw influence from legends like Earth, Wind & Fire, Bee Gees, Chaka Khan, and Stevie Wonder, as well as contemporary acts like Daft Punk, Dua Lipa, and Calvin Harris.
Having recently supported David Archuleta at The Bellwether in L.A, fans got a taste of what’s to come. Alexandra John is set to play venues across the West Coast in support of David’s Earthly Delights Tour. The tour kicks off September 17th in Phoenix.
