Following critical attention for his recent EP VARÏANT, rapid-rising rapper and creative V.I.C stakes his claim with “40 Doors”.

A bold and uncompromising scene anthem, “40 Doors” instantly lays groundwork for V.I.C’s razor-sharp delivery and technical prowess to full effect. The young talent quickly commands the infectious beat, weaving through piercing piano stabs and chest-rattling bass lines with precision as he channels the frustration and drive that follows while chasing a dream. With blazing authority, V.I.C enchants the hunger and unshakeable self-belief to transform struggle into motivation - a true statement of intent for inspired creatives who defy the relentless obstacles set in their way. Delivering vintage East Coast textures with a sharp, gritty UK edge, “40 Doors” proves V.I.C is not waiting for permission; he continues to carve out unique spaces with every aspect of his complex artistry.

Speaking on the track, V.I.C states: “40 Doors is a song I wrote about hustling. I wrote the song 3 years ago in Southampton with jojo and held on to the song for a while because I felt like it wasn’t time to release it. But after my recent project dropped and I saw how evident the appetite for 2000s style music was, I had to go back to the studio with jojo and consolidate the song for release. It’s all about the feeling when you’re trying to achieve a goal but it seems like there’s so many doors blocking you from doing it, either lack of experience, gate keeping, doubters. It’s just an ode to keep on going.”

V.I.C has also officially announced his performance at Reading & Leeds Festival this year, taking on the infamous BBC INTRODUCING stage with his live band. Sharing the same space as UK mainstays including Loyle Carner, Tiana Major9, Kofi Stone, and more, this performance marks a pivotal moment for the rising rapper, solidifying his trajectory as one of the most exciting and refreshing young artists in the UK.

Earning significant acclaim across the landscape, including WONDERLAND, CLASH, ONES TO WATCH, and VIPER, V.I.C’s recent EP VARÏANT marked a richer, multi-layered sound and expressive approach in his creative journey. With incendiary production from long-time collaborator Evil Genius, Paya Beats (ENNY, Shae Universe, Maverick Sabre), and Ashton Stellars (Burna Boy, FLO, Denzel Curry), the body of work racked up 4M+ streams and counting, and was paired with a potent visual for standout cut “Wasteman”. Exploring identity, development, resilience, and the perils of a young artist in London, V.I.C’s inner-city documentation will continue to mark a serious prospect on the verge of mainstream realisation.

Born in Nigeria, before settling in Southampton through his formative years, V.I.C was exposed to many muses and influences across music, fashion, and community; most notably in the church choir where he discovered his voice and a serious passion for the creative arts.

Quietly perfecting his craft through freestyles and songwriting, collaborating with his community and studying the rap game from afar, his own artistic progression eventually found refuge across the bustling streets of London - a vigorous and reflective journey perfectly encapsulated on his debut EP Bedroom Chronicles. Earning breakout status through tracks like “A Teen”, which earned viral status and placement on the official FIFA 22 soundtrack, V.I.C would continue his exciting upward trajectory with the intimate “Two Sides” and the introspective “4am”, highlighting his artistic integrity before unleashing his latest EP far from home. Now sitting on over 42M streams globally, tastemaker love from NOTION to BBC R1, all while selling out shows across the UK including Camden Assembly, V.I.C firmly establishes himself as a significant new voice in British music.

Harnessing grassroots support across the UK with sounds showered in unrestrained self-expression, V.I.C continues to rise as a standout talent primed and ready to break into wider consciousness. With his debut performance at Reading & Leeds this summer, get ready to hear and see a whole lot more.
