The Gascon organic farmers and rock duo The Inspector Cluzo are excited to unveil their second single, “As Stupid As You Can,” from their upcoming album Less Is More, set for release on June 6, 2025.

Accompanying the single is an official music video, directed and edited by Lorenzo De La Maza, and filmed on the band’s very own Lou Casse farm in Gascony, France. Watch it below.

“As Stupid As You Can” highlights the band’s distinctive, raw sound and draws lyrical inspiration from The Society of the Spectacle, the 1967 philosophical work by Guy Debord. The song reflects on Debord’s critique of consumer culture, touching on his chilling prediction that in a hyper-materialistic society, “truth would be just a moment of the false.”

“As Stupid As You Can” follows the release of “We Win Together, I’m Losing Alone.”  About the song, the band says: “We’ve all been raised with a team mentality. Across every culture, there's a shared understanding that we’re stronger together—building skills, facing challenges, and growing through both our strengths and our flaws. But lately, that sense of unity seems to be eroding, replaced by increasingly individualistic behavior. Since the global COVID crisis, this mindset of 'individual success above all' has become more visible than ever. The idea that getting ahead of others somehow shields you from the problems of society is a dangerous illusion. In truth, we face everything better when we stand together.”

Less Is More will be the Inspector Cluzo’s 10th studio album, and was produced by the Grammy Award-winning Vance Powell (The White Stripes, Arctic Monkeys, Seasick Steve) in Nashville in 2024. They recorded everything live in just four days and mixed it in three. fully preserving the no-playback, high-energy authenticity that has made The Inspector Cluzo a live powerhouse.

Conceptually, the album is deeply rooted in the philosophies of Henry David Thoreau and Guy Debord, and echoes the band’s commitment to sustainability, both on their farm and in their music industry.

Self-financed and fiercely independent, The Inspector Cluzo has refused any major label or hedge fund backing. They apply the same principles of ecological balance and self-reliance that guide their farming practices to their music career, making real efforts to minimize their carbon footprint while resisting the pressures of the conventional music industry.

Less is More promises to be a timely and thought-provoking record that reinforces The Inspector Cluzo’s commitment to authenticity, resilience, and community.

Less is More was recorded with long-time producing partner Vance Powell (The White Stripes, Arctic Monkeys, Seasick Steve) in Nashville in 2024. The album was recorded completely live in four days and mixed in three. Powell succeeded in capturing the band’s organic live energy which has made the band such a live tour de force.

The album's concept and lyrics are inspired by various writings, including those of Henry David Thoreau, and address the band's genuine concerns about post-growth and post-growth culture, a theory centered on the idea that finite resources like land, materials, and tools cannot support endless growth.

The band is deeply mindful of these issues and takes a holistic, self-aware approach to both their organic farm in France and their work within the music industry. They apply the same principles from farming to their music career, making intentional efforts to reduce their carbon footprint. The album is entirely self-financed, with the band choosing to remain independent by avoiding deals with major labels or hedge funds for touring, as they have done throughout their entire career.

In support of the new album, The Inspector Cluzo will embark on a worldwide tour, including several US dates with Clutch as well as a handful of dates with Tyler Bryant.  All tour information and up to date news can be found at theinspectorcluzo.com
