NIKO MOON INTRODUCES THE WORLD TO MINDFUL COUNTRY MUSIC!
RELEASES SINGLE “SANDCASTLES”
A SOUL-STIRRING SONG THAT CAPTURES THE BEAUTY OF LIFE’S IMPERMANENCE AND CELEBRATES THE IMPORTANCE OF MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH
Niko Moon, multi-platinum country star, announced he has invented a subgenre of country music. Welcome world, to mindful country music. Introduced through his soul-stirring new single, “SANDCASTLES,” available everywhere now, listen HERE via EMPIRE.
A song that captures the beauty of life’s impermanence. Blending warm, coastal textures with tender acoustic elements. Lyrically, it contemplates a powerful question: If we lived forever, would we still feel the magic in the little things? The result is an emotionally resonant anthem that encourages listeners to love deeply, live fully, and embrace the here and now—because even the most beautiful moments are temporary.
“The message I want to put out there to the world through my music is one of encouragement,” Moon exclusively told American Songwriter. “‘SANDCASTLES’ is a song that talks about the temporary quality of life, the fact that we don’t live forever and we’re just here for a moment. That fleeting nature of life is what makes it so beautiful.”
“I have a real purpose of making only positive music,” he continues. “… I’ve firmly rooted myself in that sort of philosophy of making music. To this day, I’ve only made music that makes you feel good, puts you in a good mood, makes you want to celebrate life.”
American Songwriter adds, “Moon’s fascination with summer started with the beach vacations he’d take as a kid, where he’d spend time outside with friends and family while listening to tunes by Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, Bob Marley and the ilk.”
“I really just attached that kind of music to all the good feelings that I get from music,” Moon said. “I’ve really felt passionately about it, to make music that takes people to the water. It’s where I hit the reset button in my brain and I find peace of mind.”
Niko is currently out on the road for his THESE ARE THE NIGHTS Tour, bringing his uplifting live show to fans across the country. Recently he hosted the inaugural Good Time Charleston, a family-friendly day of music, yoga, food trucks, and community connection in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month and will perform at venues across the US including New York’s Pier 17 on June 5 and Red Rocks this evening. See full dates below.
Born in Tyler, Texas, raised in Georgia, and now based in Nashville, Niko Moon has become one of country music’s most exciting and dynamic voices and biggest advocates for mental health. He first gained recognition co-writing major hits for Zac Brown Band (“Homegrown,” “Beautiful Drug,” “Loving You Easy”) and has penned songs for top artists including Morgan Wallen and HARDY. In 2020, Moon launched his solo career with the multi-platinum, chart-topping single “GOOD TIME”.
Off stage, Niko and his wife, Anna, co-founded the Happy Cowboy Foundation, which supports mental health initiatives and addiction recovery programs. Niko is also the founder of Happy Himalayan, a premium artesian water brand infused with pink Himalayan sea salt, designed to promote health, wellness, and hydration. The brand recently announced that in less than a year, it has expanded into over 300 retail locations, including Nugget Markets, Raley’s, Stinker Stations, and Kroger stores in the Northeast—with even more exciting placements lined up for 2025 and 2026. To date, Happy Himalayan has sold over 21,900 bottles—each one a step toward a cleaner, happier planet by reducing reliance on single-use plastic. Through his foundation, water brand, and music, Niko aims to inspire others to prioritize well-being and positivity.
With recent single “BOAT SONG” which set sail with major support across media including CMT, OnesToWatch, Holler and Music Row, and now, “SANDCASTLES,” Niko brings an introspective, heartfelt tone to country music. An evolution that blends his signature feel-good energy with deeper emotional resonance and timeless storytelling. As Niko continues to connect with fans through his music, this is another vibrant chapter in his feel-good discography—and furthers his mission to spread positivity and celebrate the good times whilst acknowledging and overcoming our challenges with mental health.
