Evan Honer Releases New Single "Long Road"

EVAN HONER DROPS NEW SINGLE “LONG ROAD”
Headline Tour Dates Summer +
Supporting Vance Joy In September
Fresh off a headline run of North America, rising indie-folk artist Evan Honer has dropped a new single, the aptly named “Long Road.” Co-written with Kate Stephenson the song exemplifies the genuine artistry that Honer has become known for across his albums, recent singles and live shows. Lyrically “Long Road” is about the emotional aftermath of a breakup and the internal struggle that follows.
Evan Honer says, "Kate Stephenson is one of my favorite songwriters, she also happens to be my neighbor. I like ‘Long Road’ a lot because it feels different than anything I've made in the past. I sing falsetto a lot in this song which I usually never do. Very honored to have got to write this one with one of my close friends and so far playing it on the road has been amazing and one of my favorites on my upcoming new album."
Kate Stephenson says, "I had tons of fun writing this tune with my neighbor and friend, Evan Honer. I love how versatile the song is and its groovy upbeat energy and there's nothing more special in the world than writing a banger with one of your pals!"
Evan has been performing “Long Road” along with other fan favorites—both old and new—on his recently wrapped North American tour. The run featured his biggest headline shows to date, as he played to packed rooms across the country which included stops at iconic venues such as The El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, Chicago’s Thalia Hall, and Washington, DC’s 9:30 Club. Not one to stay in one place for too long, Evan will be heading back on the road this summer with additional headline shows both stateside and in The UK and Europe, festival shows and dates as the direct support for Vance Joy. All dates are listed below and tickets are available here.
“Long Road” follows a string of recent releases from Evan, as he builds anticipation for his upcoming album—details of which will be announced soon. He most recently released “Better Off Lonely,” and a collaborative single with Cameron Whitcomb, “My Expense,” which has to date garnered 2.4 million streams on DSPs. Previous to that he shared “Place I Hate,” and “Everything I Wanted,” which Paste Magazine called “a thrilling step forward.”
“cut-to-the-bone style of songwriting” Billboard
“Rising star Evan Honer proves his artistic worth on 'Fighting For’” People Magazine
"...a pop-rock elegy that courses with explosive energy (the song is) an attention-demanding anthem from its crunchy opening chords to the cathartic collapse of its finale, 'Everything I Wanted' is a thrilling step forward for Honer." Paste Magazine
“‘Fighting For’ is a soul-stirring coming-of-age folk record …Honer holds nothing back in painting vivid, visceral, and vulnerable portraits of a young man in the metaphorical trenches, and the result is as beautiful as it is breathtaking. Atwood
About Evan Honer
Evan Honer had a prolific 2024, releasing his sophomore album Fighting For in June. Co-produced by Honer, Stephen Myers, and Jon Notar, the LP marks a pivotal moment in his artistic evolution, blending acoustic-driven tracks with a dynamic mix of sounds, including orchestral arrangements and emo influences—capturing the essence of a coming-of-age journey. The album was followed by two EPs, Different Life and Annabelle. In December, Honer’s viral-hit rendition of Tyler Childers’ Jersey Giant earned RIAA gold certification, surpassing 120 million streams on Spotify and 250+ million across all streaming platforms. He is currently out on his 2025 headline tour where he is playing his newly released singles “Place I Hate” and “Everything I Wanted,” as well as other fan favorites. The tour comes on the back of his December run supporting Wyatt Flores which concluded with a sold-out show at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.
Known for his distinctive mix of acoustic folk, indie-Americana, and alternative pop, Evan Honer’s career kicked into gear when his rendition of Tyler Childers’ “Jersey Giant” became a viral sensation. Still in college at the time, by the time he graduated, he had already released his debut album, West on I-10, collaborated with notable artists, and played sold-out shows across the U.S. and Europe. Despite lucrative offers from major labels, Honer has opted to release on his own label, Cloverdale Records, to maintain control over his creative process.
