BECCA HANNAH CELEBRATES EASY LOVE

ON COLORFUL, SOULFUL "THICK & THIN" FT. ARI LACHENAUNER OUT NOW–LISTEN

SILKY DEBUT ALBUM TONIGHT IN MY DREAMS DUE OUT JANUARY 23–PRE-SAVE

"Oozing with rich, sultry jazz, singer/songwriter Becca Hannah’s birthday cake-inspired “Caramel” flawlessly features intoxicating vocals and invigorating instrumentation."

Today, LA via Boston soulful/R&B singer-songwriter Becca Hannah shares glittering, cozy tune, "Thick & Thin" ft. Ari Lachenauer out now, alongside the colorful visual. On January 23, the artist will share her soft, glossy debut album Tonight In My Dreams, available for pre-save now.

"Thick & Thin" explores the warmth, joy and innocence of partnership once the honeymoon phase ends. Hannah shares the song developed after a discussion of choosing your partner even in the midst of growing pains and uncertainties. Hannah says, "While jamming on my porch, Tristan showed me a new song seed with a soulful, mo-town inspired guitar lick. It sounded like a cozy yet invigorating Sunday morning. We were having this discussion about the nuances of relationships after the honeymoon phase simmers, and the beauty of choosing your partner even in the midst of growing pains and uncertainties. Those testing moments encourage vulnerability and deepen connection, which is how we can truly expand and thrive.”

Continuing on the process, Hannah shares, "We bounced lyric ideas off each other, while maintaining a simplistic, ‘less is more’ approach. Love and all of its colors bring joy to the mundane parts of life, and I channeled that energy while writing the lyrics and melodies. Tristan and I sat on this song for a few years, but after meeting our dear friend Ari Lachenauer out in LA, we knew his velvety voice would be perfect to accompany mine on this track. Ari and I tapped into our inner Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell in “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” when cutting the record." The pair deeply enjoyed recording the track. "Singing and listening to this track transports us back to simpler, groovier times that 2025 is in dire need of. I hope this song gives you a glimmer of hope and joy, or enhances your gratitude for your loved ones, romantic or platonic."

With "Empathy" the artist reclaims her agency and finds her own strength. Daily Planet DC wrote, "Built around Hannah’s rich, velvety vocals and a stirring horn arrangement by George Pereli, “Empathy” reflects on how caring deeply for others can blur personal boundaries."

Born from real life experiences, the forthcoming ten track project touches on lust, love, growth, fear, loss, and longing with soulful vocals and layers of jazz and R&B as Hannah pulls from female powerhouses like Amy Winehouse, Corrine Bailey Rae and Erykah Badu. Hannah hopes the music connects to listeners in whichever ways they find meaningful. Creating her own sense of community through music, Hannah adds, "We all love, we all suffer, and how beautiful is it that we can relate to each other through songs that highlight all of the above? It brings a sense of community and acknowledgement of our humanness. It makes the ebbs of life more manageable, and the flows all the more blissful.”

The album was tracked live with a 9-piece ensemble, and recorded and mixed by seven time GRAMMY-winner Jim Scott at his own Plyrz Studio in Valencia, CA.

Scott’s work with Tedeschi Trucks Band, Tom Petty, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and countless others drew Becca and Tristan to work with him. A visit to his secret studio, filled with magical vintage gear and creative energy sealed the deal–this album could only be made at Plyrz with Scott.

The previously shared "Caramel" emerged from a lingering scent from Hannah's 27th birthday cake. "We approached the writing process in a silly, playful, somewhat ridiculous manner. This was kind of a nice break from my emotionally intense / confessional songs I’ve written in the past. Light-hearted and laid-back, the track relishes in the buzz of a new connection.

Atwood Magazine, premiered the track, calling it, "the perfect jazzy single paradise for pinning over a crush," adding, "From the very first lyric and vocal note, the track draws us in with its allure, and the instrumentation is truly just as tantalizing." Atwood goes on to say, "Blending the smoky soul of Macy Gray with the elegance of Norah Jones, Becca Hannah’s seductive single “Caramel” pours into the ears like the smooth drizzle of its namesake." On the accompanying video, Atwood says, "As we watch Hannah sing into the mic, we can fully feel her energetic confidence and fervor shine through. It is also clear to see how much fun she is having with every warm grin. That positivity ripples through the room, making every other musician beam with smiles of their own."

ABOUT BECCA HANNAH

Watching Becca Hannah on stage, audiences are carried through time by the pureness of her soulful sound. With a voice from another era, and a diverse range of influences, fans of Hannah are drawn to her potent blend of RnB, jazz, soul, and blues. As her chattery mind clears and her heart center erupts, so does ours. She infuses every note with love and compassion, wrapping listeners in a warmth that feels like a hug.

Becca finds writing and singing more accessible than speaking. She writes from the depths of her soul through exploring her stream of consciousness, and has been singing and yearning for the stage since her toddler years. While words can sometimes feel overwhelming, music has always come naturally. Through song, she gives voice to the complex, nuanced emotions that are often impossible to articulate verbally.

Originally from Boston, Becca holds a deep love for her hometown. But nearly two years ago, she stepped out of her comfort zone and moved across the country to further pursue her singing and songwriting career in Los Angeles. Tristan Jantz, her good friend and co-collaborator, had just moved to the city of angels a year prior!

Becca and Tristan first crossed paths in Boston’s music scene around 2021, where they played local gigs and began writing together—quickly proving themselves the ultimate dynamic duo. Becca leads with heart and spunky spontaneity, while Tristan, a true dreamer, brings sharp vision and flawless execution.

That same year, they performed at Jay-Z’s Made In America Festival in Philadelphia. For the show, Tristan reconnected with his high school friend, Brooklyn-based bassist Conner Duke, who joined them onstage. In May, Conner flew out to LA to record the album with them—a true full-circle moment.

Since moving to LA, their creative circle has flourished. Tristan introduced Becca to Ari Lachenauer at Hollywood’s acclaimed Hotel Cafe, where Tristan and Ari had an artist showcase in early 2024. Becca and Ari immediately clicked, their East Coast energy shining through their bold, playful banter. Soon after, it was evident that Ari’s soulful, gritty, sparkly vocals were a perfect addition to the two duets Tristan and Becca wrote. The trio eventually submitted a live rendition of “Rewind” for a 2025 Tiny Desk submission, in which they were selected as finalists!

Tristan later introduced Becca to soul brother Pàppa D, whose buttery keys and magnetic, loving energy became essential to the project. They also met drummer Dominic Anzalone at a Santa Monica show—an instant connection that led to them playing together just three days later.

Tristan called in his childhood friend, and fellow Berklee Alumnus, George Pereli, to grace the album with his musical arranging talents. Pereli is the mastermind behind all of the intricate horn parts that were essential for creating the magical mixture of classic soul and modern RnB that the songs were demanding.

Tristan and Pàppa D met trombonist, Benny Lipson, at Hollywood’s Black Rabbit Rose, where he performs regularly, and immediately knew he was the man for the job.

Benny took the lead in pulling together the other members of the horn section, with saxophonist Bill Todd, and trumpetist, Austin Drake who blew us all away.

After the first rehearsal it was apparent the chemistry of the group was undeniable, and they were all eager to hit the studio!
