NASHVILLE, TN (October 3, 2025)Whitney Fenimore’s new album, State of Being, arrives today, October 3, from the Nashville-based artist. A standout semi-finalist on The Voice (Season 13), Whitney has since earned coverage from PEOPLE Magazine, NPR, and No Depression, thanks to the emotional depth of her 2022 album Leaving Ashwood and her continued evolution as a sharp, self-aware storyteller. Blending indie-folk, Americana, and singer/songwriter influences, she has crafted a sound uniquely her own — rooted in raw emotion, rich melodies, and a voice that balances strength with vulnerability.

Spanning 11 tracks, State of Being is Whitney’s most personal and expansive project yet — the first time a record has truly felt like a complete album to her. Produced by collaborators such as Sam Westhoff (Shaboozey, Bo Staloch, Lily Meola), Preston Cochran (Ashe, Lucy Dacus), and David Gungor of The Brilliance, the album explores themes of deconstruction, doubt, faith, identity, and healing. The result is a genre-fluid, liberating statement of self.

Whitney expresses, “This project isn’t about making a statement, it’s about creating a space where I could be honest. These songs are stitched together from my own lived experiences — from questioning faith and navigating mental health, to untangling shame, love, and identity. It’s a quiet protest, a reckoning, and a release. More than anything, it’s about learning to trust myself, to be at peace with who I am, and who I’m still becoming.”

Alongside the album’s release, Whitney spotlights its standout track, “Thank God For You,” which she calls “a feel-good, upbeat love song. For me, it’s the little things that matter most… quiet mornings, coffee on the couch, breakfast in bed.”

Leading up to the album, Whitney Fenimore released a string of standout singles that charted the course for her expanding sound. “Punching Bag” (Nov. 2023), featuring fellow The Voice alum Addison Agen, earned airplay on Nashville’s Lightning 100. In February 2024, she followed with “Thin Line,” a brooding, genre-blurring track co-produced by Sam Westhoff. “New Normal” arrived in June 2024, offering a quiet meditation on transformation and emotional growth. September’s “Better Than Lonely” a cinematic collaboration with indie-folk artist Ten Kills the Pack — was paired with a visually arresting video directed by Grace Hartrick and shot by Bryant Bural. “Wrong About Jesus” (June 2025) continued to showcase Whitney’s fearless introspection and artistic range, and most recently, “Come Around”— written and produced with Hunter West (Colony House, The New Respects, RYMAN) — is a mystical, soul-searching track that captures the tension between frustration and hope in today’s world.

Through it all, Whitney remains grounded in her belief that music is a lifeline: a way to connect, cope, and heal. “It’s really an extension of me,” she says. “I’d feel pretty lost without it. I do my best to live authentically, and I hope that comes through in the songs.”

She’s taken the stage at SXSW, shared bills with GRAMMY-winner Lori McKenna, and landed a publishing deal with legendary producer Ken Caillat (Fleetwood Mac, Colbie Caillat). Whether performing solo with a guitar or fronting a full band, Whitney Fenimore delivers a kind of sincerity you feel in your chest — quietly powerful, deeply human, and entirely her own.
