Vol. 2 Campaign to Partner with Hampton University, Clark Atlanta University, and Alabama State University for Fall 2025 Activations
Interscope Will Donate $3 From Each Sale of the Vinyl To The Corresponding University
(Santa Monica, CA – October 17, 2025) – Interscope Geffen A&M Records today announced the next phase of its ongoing HBCU-focused initiative, deepening the label’s engagement with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and continuing its mission to uplift the institutions that have shaped the cultural, creative, and professional journeys of many Interscope artists and executives.
Following a successful launch in 2024 with partnerships at Howard University, Tennessee State University, and Texas Southern University, Interscope is proud to unveil Homecoming SZN Compilation Vol. 2, the next installment of the vinyl-exclusive album series. The campaign will partner with Hampton University, Clark Atlanta University, and Alabama State University for immersive activations during their 2025 Homecoming weeks. As part of the campaign, Interscope will make a $3 donation for every item sold to the related university. In addition, Interscope will provide funding to support a variety of initiatives across campuses, with equal awards distributed to each of the three universities.
“Homecoming is a treasured tradition at Hampton University, celebrating our history, culture, and community. We are excited to partner with Interscope Geffen A&M Records to bring this innovative Homecoming SZN initiative to our campus. Music has always been a powerful bridge between generations, and this collaboration gives our students a chance to showcase their creativity while connecting with a legacy that extends far beyond our campus,” said Hampton University President Darrell K. Williams.
In celebration of the anniversary of Homecoming SZN Vol. 1 and the official launch of Vol. 2, Interscope Records will kick off the next chapter of its year-long HBCU initiative with a pop-up student event at Howard University on October 22, marking the start of Homecoming week. The on-campus celebration will feature a celebrity DJ set by DJ Blaccmass, a student host, immersive photo moments, complimentary food, giveaways and surprise appearances from Interscope artists. The initiative will then head to Clark Atlanta University, kicking off with a performance from Big Boogie, who’s featured on the compilation, at Clark’s official homecoming concert on October 22, and a pop-up takeover for Homecoming weekend October 24th – 25th. °1824, the culture marketing and creative strategy team of Universal Music Group, will also open up applications for part-time roles to students at each university. °1824 empowers students with high-skilled roles in content creation, livestreaming, strategic partnerships, creator partnerships, social media and publicity.
Homecoming SZN Compilation Vol. 2 – available exclusively on vinyl, features a curated selection of Interscope catalog songs that capture the spirit, pride, and energy of HBCU culture. This year’s edition includes standout hits from Kendrick Lamar, GloRilla, Rob49, EVE and more. With custom vinyl artwork created for each participating university, as well as a special consumer edition available at select retailers and online HERE, the compilation continues to celebrate the legacy of HBCUs through music that resonates across generations.
“We are thrilled to build on the momentum of Volume 1 and expand this meaningful initiative to even more HBCU campuses,” said Laura Carter, EVP, Head of Urban Marketing, Interscope Geffen A&M Records. “HBCUs have been a bedrock of culture and creativity, and this initiative is about honoring that legacy.”
Additional university partnerships and Spring 2026 activations will be announced in the coming months, as the label continues its year-long journey to celebrate and collaborate with HBCU communities nationwide. For more information on the campaign, please visit the website HERE.
