Internet Tears Releases New Single "Death & His Friends" On Black Barrel Records

“Death & His Friends” is the first in a series of singles Internet Tears will release via the independent Connecticut-based record label.

CONNECTICUT (March 1, 2024) – After signing with Black Barrel Records in January, Connecticut-based indie pop band Internet Tears arrives today with the single “Death & His Friends,” its first release via the independent label, which is available now on all streaming platforms.

Recognized for its infectious sound that it has coined as “indie pop sadness,” Internet Tears demonstrates its knack for bringing a vibrant musical perspective to complex topics on “Death & His Friends,” employing shimmering pop melodies as a warm foundation for astute lyrics penned by the group’s frontman Daniel Louis in honor of one of his favorite musicians, who passed away a few years ago.

“I wrote this song so I could speak about Garrett Garfield and his band Death and All His Friends, as well as about how much of an influence he was on my writing and vocals,” Daniel shares.

Anyone who has ever lost someone they cared about will easily be able to identify with the profound emotions from which “Death & His Friends” was born, speaking to the band’s exceptional ability to capture the feelings that can arise during the most pivotal moments in life, from heartbreak and grief to falling in love and everything in between.

Comprising Daniel Louis (vocals), Zack Apuzzo (drums), Esteban Rivera (bass guitar), and Chris “Leap Frog” Jones (lead guitar), Internet Tears has begun to establish itself as a rising force in indie pop, incorporating colorful tints of pop-rock, synth-punk and synthwave in its enveloping compositions that explore themes such as self-empowerment and relationships. The partnership between Internet Tears and Black Barrel Records will see the band release a string of irresistible new singles via the Connecticut-based label throughout the year.
