Enter into a whimsical forest, a curious and safe space where we can take time for ourselves.

Belle Chen and a host of electronic composers and producers have reworked songs from her recent album 'Ravel In The Forest' and shares an exclusive original unreleased track ‘Closet To The Rain’.

Belle says: "A new track that was not on the original ‘Ravel In The Forest’ album but one that was performed live in Belle Chen’s shows. A nostalgic yet joyful tune the track features synthesizers as raindrops and a curious electric piano melody that evokes the animal murmurs of the forest."

This meditative rework EP coincides with 2024 World Mental Health Day on 10th October. It contains six meditative reworks of tracks from ‘Ravel In The Forest’, pianist-composer Belle  Chen’s 2024 release on the Platoon label which entered UK the Official Chart (Specialist Classical) at #7 and Australia’s ARIA Chart (Classical) at #15.

The original ‘Ravel In The Forest’ album was a whimsical journey into the forest, a celebration of textures and colours of the flora and fauna and a musical space where listeners may fall into; to be imaginative, playful, vulnerable, and creative.
This meditative rework EP serves as a parallel space through which listeners may take time to be more in tune with themselves; to decompress, reflect, breathe, and feel. Five unique producers were invited to create reworks of the original tracks, bringing their unique artistic approaches to the project. The result is a colourful and beautiful spectrum of meditative reworks.

Belle Chen performs ‘Ravel In The Forest’ with Engines Orchestra Strings, presented in Hyperreal Live Immersive audio for the EFG London Jazz Festival at London’s EartH Theatre on 18th November 2024.

For this performance, Belle is joined by a string quartet from the award-winning Engines Orchestra led by Phil Meadows (Metropole Orkest, BBC Concert Orchestra, Royal Northern Sinfonia), multi-instrumentalist Brendan Cox (Imogen Heap, Guy Sigsworth, Patrick Wolf), and Korean piri artist Seayool.
