Hello Operator, Someone broke my heart and her name is Courtney Paige Nelson
Singer/songwriter Courtney Paige Nelson - who took a bit of an unconventional path to music – is revealing herself through her craft in a way that perhaps no other emerging female artist is.
Last year, Courtney burst onto the scene with multiple releases, including a collaboration with artist Moore Kismet in which she was the featured artist and songwriter. Courtney continues to impress the industry with incredibly revealing songs about mending a broken heart, mental illness, and her daily life experiences, which have all helped her create an intimate body of work.
In 2023, she continues to use her music to empower others, having another chart-topping single come to a head that highlights her complex and vocal songwriting and stunning melodies. Courtney is dropping truth bombs and giving herself much-deserved heartbreak closure on her newest single, “1-800-broke-my-heart,” officially out on Friday, February 3rd.
“After being cheated on for months, I wasn't given closure to heal my heart," shares Courtney.
“He was seeing his coworker for months, broke up with me, then started dating her 48 hours later. It was a nightmare trying to get any response or closure from him. So I did the only thing I could do: write a song about it to heal my heart. When everything was over, I decided to heal by making art out of the situation, which is where this song comes in. Every line in the song has to do with how I felt and what I wanted to say to him that I never got the chance to say. It’s an anthem for all the women who constantly get manipulated into situations where the guy leaves them questioning their sanity and if everything is their fault."
San Francisco born and raised Courtney Paige Nelson has carved her place in the music world. After being kicked out of her home at 17 years old, she navigated her life into the modeling world. Getting her jump start in the spotlight on America's Next Top Model Cycle 23 (placing 4th place), gave her the platform to pursue her true passion: music.
Now a developed artist and songwriter, she has gained the likes of tastemakers such as FLAUNT, Hollywood Life, Line Best Fit, WONDERLAND, and LadyGunn. Continuing her music journey, she now writes for Sync, with multiple features, writing credits, and cuts for/alongside other artists & DJ's. Including a remix of her song "Saved Myself" by the DJ trio BROHUG which charted at #1 in Denmark.
Courtney has amassed over three million streams as an independent artist in the past year. Most recently, Grammy-nominated DJ Moore Kismet released their debut album UNIVERSE, spotlighting the song "See You Go," which Courtney wrote and performed on. Gaining 30+ editorial playlists, including New Music Friday in 12 countries, trending on Sirius XM radio, hitting 49 Apple charts, and holding the top 50 on Beatport for over a month. She performed "See You Go" live at HARD festival in Los Angeles as a special guest of Moore Kismet for 10,000+ people. The album UNIVERSE performed so well it was considered for a Grammy for Best Electronic Album. In more accomplishments this past year, she wrote and performed on the track "Sick For You" with DJs Wolf Player & CREEK, which racked up 1,000,000 plays in three weeks of release.
