#Risingartist: Killing all of my Feelings Will Linley! We chatted with him about his latest song

South Africa’s latest breakout star, Will Linley has just released his debut EP kill all my feelings via BMG. To date, Will has earned over 17M+ global streams since his introduction in November 2021 and is quickly building his fanbase worldwide. We had the chance to chat with Will for a moment about his new music, touring, and Tiktok.

So tell me about “kill all my feelings,” what makes it addicting to listen to?  The guitar riff that starts off the song is so iconic to me; I think it hooks the listener straight away.

You also did a music video for this song, how much fun was it? Did you take any dance classes or is it natural talent? It was so much fun! We literally danced around a thrift store for a day, life literally couldn’t get any better. And no, I didn’t take any dance classes, that was my own uncoordinated dance talent!

You mention in one of your Tiktoks that working in the music industry was not on your radar, was the original career path you were planning before taking the plunge into music? I was very lost after high school; I really didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. So, I can’t give a proper answer, but now, if music wasn’t a thing, and I had to pick a career path, I’d want to become a teacher.

So, I’m curious to know what was that initial push to put yourself out on Tiktok? My friend/producer David Balshaw told me too! I didn’t want to do it at the start, but now it’s part of my job!

Do you still want to open for One Republic? Or do you have someone else on your mind? Of course, I do! I think they are so good, it would be a dream come true!

What if I told you that, I am one of those girls who don’t think Ryan Reynolds is hot. How would you convince me?  I’d say “you must be thinking of the wrong person!”

Are you ready for the upcoming tour with Matthew Mole?  I’m so excited about it. Matthew has been someone I’ve looked up to my whole life, so to be going on tour with him is really exciting.

What’s next for Will Linley? Lots of shows and maybe some more music rather soon….

Will is currently wrapping up a successful sold-out run in his home country of South Africa. Beginning August 11, he will support fellow South African singer-songwriter Matthew Mole in Europe and the United Kingdom. Tickets are on sale now. Hailing from Cape Town, South Africa, 20-year-old South African songwriter and musician, Will Linley cannot remember a time in his life without music. He grew up singing as a hobby but never imagined that his passion could translate into a career. Once the pandemic hit, Will found himself stuck at home writing music as a way to feel less isolated. The pop sensation soon found a global connection with fans thanks to TikTok and his raw, relatable and now radio hit lyrics.

Will’s 2021 debut single “miss me (when you’re gone)” has garnered 15M+ global streams, over a million YouTube views, 5M+ TikTok views, and has been used over 5K times on the platform since its release in November. The hit track topped the charts reaching #1 on 6 stations across South Africa. His highly-anticipated follow-up singles “wrong time” and “i don’t wanna be yours” are currently in the Top 20 on the South African radio charts.
