#Freshfind We danced and Chatted with Sandflower about Bump, Netflix, and What's next for her

The genre-fluid Brooklyn-born artist Sandflower is set to heat up the dance floor with her new song "BUMP!" featuring fellow New York-based hip-hop artist, MiGSMiGSTER. Perfect for those long hot summer night’s out, this summertime anthem is a fun track with a celebratory message.

We had the chance to chat with Sandflower herself! You can hear everything about Bump, how a Spice Gir; cover got it’s way into a Netflix movie and so much more on our Youtube channel (video at the top).

Bump! Brilliant Unique Magnificent Phenomenal! Bump is one of those easy flowing collaborations that happen when you hear a piece of a song and think wow ok I need this in my life! It was amazing doing a track with Migs, there really is something about working with other artists from NYC. There is just this different kind of energy that I can’t explain. I think when you hear it you’ll know what I mean…
— Sandflower
This was a natural collaboration between Sandflower and Migs Migster: in attitude, effortlessness and cool. From a production standpoint the ingredients included a rhythmic Latin base, analog synths, a Japanese shamisen, moments of an underground rave and even an exotic Indian flute. Like a postcard from an
NYC street party to the world. ...and it makes perfect sense coming from two artists from Brooklyn.
— David Sisko / Producer

Produced by the incomparable David Sisko, this fresh and rebellious song is packed with driving beats and an infectious hook that will stick with you long after the party’s over. Sandflower showcases her unique sound that combines electronic and traps with an Avante-Garde flair to create a new kind of empowering club banger.

BUMP’S accompanying music video, directed by ELLE Magazine’s featured filmmaker Natasha Garoosi, is equally electrifying. Sandflower adventures through the Mojave Desert with friends made on a hitchhiking escapade. Her punk-inspired futuristic desert-wear formidably showcases the thematic eclecticism of her work. From a dance party at sunset to a romp through Joshua Tree, this brightly colored and high energy video is the perfect complement to the track.

"Bump" is Sandflower's latest release off of her upcoming album "The Quantum Seed", the highly anticipated debut album from the independent and innovative artist. Her past music release “Wannabe” - a reinvented cover of the 90s hit by the Spice Girls, was featured on Netflix blockbuster movie ‘To All The Boys: Always and Forever’.

Some of her notable performances include Saturday Night Live (Dua Lipa), Moma Ps1, Opening for Lindsey Stirling, Curating and performing at The National Arts Club, and her many performances at the iconic Susanne Bartch On Top in the Boom Boom Room at The Standard.

About Sandflower

A multi-disciplinary visionary - the Sandflower sound is eclectic and powerful with a mystical essence. Fascinated by quantum physics, and inspired by high fashion and fine art, Sandflower speaks to those who stand out because they’re different. And her message is to embrace that difference. Sandflower was born in Brooklyn, New York, to a Rock & Roll singer and a visual

artist.

The dichotomy of her private school upbringing and immersion in the New York music scene exposed her to different ways of seeing the world, which has informed her unique musical style. Inspired by Jimi Hendrix, Cindy Sherman, Salvador Dali, and  Allen Ginsberg, and enthralled by myths, legends, and the

power of quantum physics, Sandflower combines visions from her meditations to create a cross-genre, multidimensional sound experience. Sandflower’s music and visual art have been featured in Vogue Italia, Paper Magazine, The New York Times, Fader, and The London Times. She has premiered music in Paper Magazine, Afropunk, The Last Magazine, and Out Magazine. Many of her songs can currently be heard on film and television, including the hit Netflix movie To All The Boys I've Loved Before 3 and commercials for Evian and Sprayground, which she did with Wyclef. Sandflower’s new album, The Quantum Seed, speaks to the awakening of the self and is a manifestation of the vision for her otherworldly sound.
