#soulout Cavetown at the Filmore

What a night we had. If you want to talk about our favorite crowd, Cavetown fans are where it’s at. We couldn’t have a moment to look at our phones without a friendly fan offering their compliments and lite conversation about the upcoming performance or speculations of the setlist. Couldn’t help to put a smile on Taylor who was there to document the adventure. (We should also add, that Kazoos need to be a staple on all merch.)

The sold-out night was filled not only with a friendly conversation but a passionate fanbase as they all supported each act up until Cavetown took the stage. Once Robin Skinner appeared on stage, the crowd went into a dreamscape headspace. The stage which was ornate with flowers and clouds help add to the dream. The concert was light and fun.

Since the age of 14, Cavetown has created self-produced songs both intensely diaristic and touched with offbeat imagination. Now 23, the Cambridge-based artist, otherwise known as Robin Skinner, has emerged as one of the preeminent voices in the DIY bedroom pop scene, with more than 1 billion global streams to date, including 8 million+ monthly Spotify listeners and 2 million YouTube subscribers. He did so without a viral hit or easy gimmicks, but with a rather pure heart, filling his YouTube channel and Bandcamp with a mix of covers and original music he wrote and self-recorded in his bedroom including “Devil Town” and “This Is Home”.
