#Live Tacos and music with Kid Bloom, here is what you miss last night at the El Club
On our bingo list for this year, we didn’t expect to do an in-person interview inside a restaurant outside of the El Club in Detroit. Nor did we expect to have an interview with Kid Bloom and yet here we are. The conversation was lovely and you can still hear the mariachi music playing in the background of the restaurant. We talked about the new album Highways, going on his first headlining tour, and spirit animals. You can listen to the full interview down below or where ever you listen to your podcast.
As for the night, no matter the size of the crowd the party was still a party. Kid Bloom not only rocks the night but also caters to his fans with multiple chances to have their private moments on stage. One of our favorite moments was when a fan bought Lennon a beer, they shared their drinks together.

eclectic indie-pop songwriter Kid Bloom (aka Lennon Kloser) will embark on the first headline tour in support of his recently released new album Highway (Position Music). The dates kick off in Santa Ana, CA and conclude November 3 back in Los Angeles, CA. Along the way Kid Bloom plays in Seattle, Chicago, Brooklyn, and Atlanta. This marks his first set of dates since his national tour with Bad Suns. Tickets are on-sale now and all dates are listed below. Rising talent WizTheMC (1.2M Monthly Listeners) will be opening for Kid Bloom on all of the dates, while Kevin Holliday, All Things Blue, and Luka Kloser will be on for certain gigs as well. In between sharing the stage with The Neighbourhood, and Lennon Stella, Kid Bloom honed his sonic palette on his 2020 Blood Sugar EP, steeped in influences as varied as Tame Impala, The Weeknd, Travis Scott, and David Bowie. With his new album Highway, Kid Bloom establishes his own unique musical domain – neon production, hip-hop beat-work, and psychedelic guitar emissions revolving around confessional lyrics flowing with unfiltered honesty. The LP’s “Have U Seen Her” and other singles have resonated with fans, pushing Spotify monthly listenership over 2 million for the first time in Kid Bloom’s career.
Lyrically, Highway sees Kloser writing his most honest songs to date. On the surface, it sounds like a breakup album, but that’s just one highway. The other perception is much more introspective.“It’s about getting to know yourself and why you made these decisions,” he explains. “I write a lot about the shitty stuff, and the satirical aspect of it as well, brings out my character and how I think about stuff. That’s the whole point of it: the idea of just accepting yourself and knowing yourself and being yourself within all this craziness.”
Highway also sees Kloser writing his most funky, pop-leaning music as of yet. “Cowboy” is as open as the fields in which his character runs and roams which is cinematically depicted in its recently released music video, “Have You Seen Her” is impossible not to dance to, and “Does It Feel Real” would make Prince proud. But if you ask Kloser, “Yellow Line” is the track closest to his heart. “A little bit more love, a little more kindness,” Kloser says. “That’s what this album is all about.”
