(November 30, 2021 – New York, NY) 20-year-old singer-songwriter poutyface drops two new tracks “Pretty Boy” & “Fboys Anonymous” today via Island Records. Both tracks embody her signature dark-pop sound, highlighting her quick wit and honest lyrics. Speaking on the new music and embracing her authentic self, poutyface states: “Don’t take yourself so seriously. The last thing I’m concerned with is coming off ‘cool.’ I hope that shines through and encourages people to do the same. ‘Cool’ is overrated. Authenticity is interesting. Nobody is gonna do it like you. I’m digging my heels into the labels that used to humiliate me – ‘weird,’ ‘awkward,’ ‘lame.’ Maybe, but if that’s who I am, you’re gonna hear me shout it louder than anyone else in the room. My music is a wave to everyone who feels out of place. I see you, even if nobody else does.”

The “Boys Will Be Boys” bundle follows God Complex (Mojo),” “Bored” Ft. Phem “HEY NEIGHBOR” and TikTok favorite, “Never Fuckin Know.” poutyface has consistently delivered the graphic detail that her loyal fanbase has come to appreciate ever since her self-released “Deathwish” in 2020, when she began to garner critical acclaim and millions of streams.

ABOUT POUTYFACE:

From southern California, poutyface (born Olivia Knight) emerged as one of the first artists to go viral on the songwriting app Voisey during its 2019 beta test. Without an ounce of compromise or accommodation, she eventually signed a major label deal with Island Records, and a music publishing deal with Warner/Chappell, having also worked with Apple’s artist development subsidiary Platoon. She wrote over 150 songs on Voisey, drawing on animal influences ranging from the honey badger to the Tasmanian devil.

“I’m a massive believer in the importance of pen game,” she said. “All of my biggest inspirations are incredible lyricists, Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar, Mereba, to name a few. I’m also a huge fan of Doja Cat… I think I’m attracted to music with a lot of soul, but honestly, I listen to every genre and pull inspiration from every angle. And my taste is constantly changing. Ultimately, great lyrics are the common thread.”

“I hope people either love it or hate it,” poutyface sums up. “My favorite kind of art is polarizing, even the stuff I dislike the most, so ultimately I want to illicit a reaction out of people. You might hate me, but you will remember me.”
