#Live Future Island live at the Royal Oak Music Theatre

What a night! Once in a while, we come across a show where we don’t want it to end; Future Island was that show for us so far. The performance on Stephen Colbert's show did not match what we witnessed. From the stage setup to Sam's movement, it was breathtaking and a joy to see in person. Diehard fans lined up to catch their Royal Oak Music Theatre performance. Some have seen them back on their first tour over a decade ago.

People Who Aren’t There Anymore heralds a new chapter for Future Islands, which continue to challenge themselves and each other despite having formed nearly two decades ago. Where they’ve pursued ever-higher energy anthems in the past, they’ve turned inward this time and unlocked a new level of ferocity. The album delivers some of their most inspiring and heartbreaking tracks by doing the opposite: taking their time, and making each breath, syllable and cymbal crash count.

Co-produced by Future Islands and Steve Wright and mixed by Wright and Chris Coady, the result is a powerful, defining statement from a group of musicians that have made the best work of their career.
