Lockstep pull from doomgaze and post-rock on new single and video "Hunger"

Nashville, TN, trio Lockstep have shared their atmospheric new single, “Hunger”, out now. The nearly six-minute-long song showcases Lockstep’s penchant for lush guitar-driven melodies, hushed vocals, and fuller moments of heaviness. You can watch the Errick Easterday-created video here now.

In the song, the band states:

"Hunger touches on the idea or feeling of having tunnel vision towards a future scenario or outcome to the detriment of your present experience."

“Hunger” serves as the band’s second single, following “Weave”, from their upcoming EP, Arrival, set for release on May 19th. Pulling from post-rock, shoegaze, doom, and noise rock, the six tracks on the EP fit perfectly alongside output from bands like Jesu, Holy Fawn, and Nothing. The songs touch on maintaining a sense of presence in life rather than having tunnel vision for the future. The EP was self-produced and recorded by the band, with guitarist Matt Schumacher taking the lead on tracking and mixing, and mastering was done by Zac Montez (Cloakroom, Keep). Arrival marks Lockstep’s first proper release, following their two-song output, Lockstep 1, released in April 2021.

Lockstep is comprised of Austin Rolison (Drums and Vocals), Matt Schumacher (Guitar and Vocals), and Tanner Ihrie (bass).
