HANA, a rising seven-member girl group (CHIKA, NAOKO, JISOO, YURI, MOMOKA, KOHARU, and MAHINA) formed through the Japanese reality competition series No No Girls, released their pre-debut single, “Drop,on January 31, followed by its music video on February 9, 2025. Comprised of members from Japan and Korea, HANA is managed under BMSG, the management and label led by artist and producer SKY-HI, and produced by renowned rapper and singer CHANMINA. With their bold and unapologetic talents, the group is set to make a strong impact with their official debut this April, —aiming to make a name for itself not only in Japan but also on the global stage.

The Japanese reality competition series No No Girls started with an unprecedented application message: "We don't care about your height, weight, nor age. Just show us your voice and your life." More than 7,000 contestants applied, not only from Japan but from around the world, including Korea and the United States. Many of these candidates had previously been told "no" because of their appearance or voice, leading them to doubt themselves.

With CHANMINA as the producer of No No Girls, the contestants have continuously grown throughout the competition process —pushing each other to improve, gaining confidence, and overcoming the “NO”s they had faced in the past to turn them into “YES”s.

Through their journey of perseverance and transformation, viewers were deeply moved, leading to an increasing number of audiences resonating with the series. No No Girls garnered significant attention, with its official YouTube channel surpassing total 41 million views and reaching a peak of over 130k concurrent viewers during the YouTube premiere. An impressive 50k people applied for tickets to attend the live event of the final audition round, while the online broadcast peaked at over 560k concurrent viewers, showcasing its tremendous popularity.

Their pre-debut single “Drop,” originally created as a group performance piece for the final round of No No Girls THE FINAL, captures the journey of ordinary girls who, through self-reflection and dedication, have honed their skills and are now determined to achieve something extraordinary.

Music video of “Drop” begins with a striking scene where pressing an elevator button displays the word "No." The members, who constantly had been told "No" and had suppressed themselves in the shadows, symbolized by the subway, are now breaking free and moving toward the light. The video also features solo scenes for each member, reflecting their unique personalities and their journey throughout the completion process. 

“Drop” reached #1 on the Spotify Japan Trending Chart on February 1st. Not only did the song achieve impressive results, but the music video of “Drop” also hit 1 million views just in 11 hours after its release and holds the rank of #1 on YouTube Trending in Japan on for three consecutive days. Despite still being in their pre-debut phase, “Drop” has absolutely generated a huge viral not just only in Japan!

What is No No Girls?

A girls group audition produced by renowned rapper/singer CHANMINA and artist/producer Sky-hi.

This audition started with an unprecedented application message: "We don't care about your height, weight, or age. Just show us your voice and your life." Over 7,000 applications were received not only from Japan, but also from all over the world, including Korea and the United States.

Producer CHANMINA was once told "No" for her appearance and voice, and was unable to debut in a girl group despite aspiring to do so. The 30 girls who passed the document and face-to-face screening for this audition were also told "No" and had denied themselves. With the guidance and judging that only CHANMINA can provide, and with BMSG's motto of "not killing talent," she will lead the participants to become a girl group that can be active on the world stage.
