Grammy nominated artist Porter Robinson kicked off the opening weekend of his highly anticipated SMILE! :D World Tour with two nights in Boston at MGM Music Hall at Fenway, and a show at Forest Hills Stadium in New York last night that spanned his 10+ year long career. We want to share approved photos and videos from opening night, free of use, for your consideration below.

Split up into three main acts, Porter began the night with performances of the entirety of his most recent studio album “SMILE:D”, which was released July 26, 2024 via MOM+POP. Porter opened the concert with hits like “Knock Yourself Out XD” and “Is there Really No Happiness”. To highlight the theme of his album, “SMILE!”, a virtual pink city skyline was projected behind him, a nod to his music video “Cheerleader” which has garnered 4.6 million views on YouTube.

For the second act of the night, Porter’s 2021 release “Nurture” was the focus, playing fan favorites like “Everything Goes On”, “Look at the Sky”, “Get Your Wish”, and more. The use of colorful lights and lasers adds a dynamic layer to the concert experience, the ways in which the set changes to coordinate with each song shows the profound thought and attention that went into this creative process.

This past August marked the 10 year anniversary of Robinson’s debut album “Worlds” which was the center of the third act, playing hits like “Sad Machine”, “Goodbye To A World”, “Divinity” and more. Porter’s production captivated the audience, with his live band delivering an exhilarating performance throughout the night.

Porter began the encore playing one his most famous hits “Shelter” which has over 200 million streams on Spotify. Wrapping up the show with an electric performance of Porter’s personal favorite track “Russian Roulette” with lyrics to the track being spelled out from comments from fans, social media, and news headlines about himself, adding a personal element to the fan experience, as well as allowing the audience to follow along. The overall production skillfully captures the message of each of Porter’s albums, including vibrant and immersive visuals that connect seamlessly with each track.

Produced by Live Nation, the tour continues on Thursday, September 5 at Coca-Cola Roxy in Atlanta, proceeding with stops across the globe in Orlando, Chicago, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Singapore, Manila, Paris, London and more! See full routing below.

About Porter Robinson:
At age 18, the North Carolina-based producer and songwriter burst onto the scene with a complex, bombastic brand of electro-house. Following the major success of his 2014 debut album Worlds, Porter released the RIAA Gold single 'Shelter' with Madeon in 2016, followed by a Shelter Live Tour spanning 43 dates and four continents. The following year, Porter began releasing music under a new alias, Virtual Self, which led to his first Grammy nomination for the BBC Radio 1 hit single 'Ghost Voices.' In 2019, Porter put on the first Second Sky Festival, which sold out all 30,000 tickets for the two-day festival in a single day. In both 2020 and 2021, Porter Robinson hosted editions of his virtual festival Secret Sky, amassing over 6 million viewers combined, and which came to be regarded as the most sophisticated virtual festivals of its time. Later in 2021, following the release of sophomore album Nurture, Second Sky Festival made its return to the Bay Area, selling out 40,000 tickets in a single day. Immediately following, the Nurture Live North American Tour sold over 150,000 concert tickets and was the highest grossing electronic tour of 2021. In 2022, in partnership with Riot Games, Robinson released “Everything Goes On” surpassing 100 million global streams. Later that year was his debut of one of two exclusive full live band performances, first at Second Sky 2022 and again in 2023 at the Coachella Main Stage. Since its release, SMILE! :D has garnered widespread acclaim with more than 25M streams on Spotify alone and praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, The Independent, NME, The Skinny, HYPEBEAST, The Needle Drop, and more. The lead single "Cheerleader" has been named one of Vulture's Best Songs of 2024 and The Fader's Songs of Summer.
