AleXa Drops New Anthem "Joy of Missing Out," of her upcoming debut English Album

Female powerhouse AleXa has released her latest single “Joy of Missing Out,” today. "Joy of Missing Out" is AleXa’s fourth English-language release of 2024, all leading up to her debut English album later this year. On top of this, AleXa is set to return to the states to meet her fans, kicking off in Las Vegas on September 1st, Denver on September 7th, San Jose on September 8th, and Los Angeles on September 10th. In between all of those Fansign events, AleXa will be back in her hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, to perform at Neon Prairie Festival on September 6th.

"Joy of Missing Out" is an anthem for introverts, celebrating the joys of solitude and self-reflection. AleXa says of the song “I, myself, am an extrovert, but I’m the only one in my friend group. This song goes out to all those who’d rather party by themselves than get lost in the crowd.” 

This release follows AleXa's debut performance at KCON in Los Angeles, where she captivated the audience with four songs, including her previous English single, "distraction." Forbes lauded "distraction" as a "rock banger," noting, "K-pop star AleXa is officially in her pop-punk era." In the lead-up to her KCON performance, AleXa also gave fans a glimpse of what’s to come in her upcoming album during an interview with CBS Los Angeles. The singer teased new music and discussed her journey into the English-language market, building anticipation for her debut album. 

Prior to these releases, AleXa made history as the first solo Korean artist to perform at iHeart Radio's Jingle Ball in December, while also offering fans an exclusive preview of "sick" on The Kelly Clarkson Show. The new music she's been releasing has garnered widespread acclaim from outlets such as Billboard, Grammy, People Magazine, MTV, and more. With this new single, AleXa continues to showcase her versatility and commitment to delivering music that resonates with listeners on a personal level. 

ABOUT ALEXA 

The daughter of a Korean adoptee, AleXa, was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A lifelong dancer, AleXa competed in Soompi’s “Rising Legends,” where nearly 1 million fan votes determined her the winner. Shortly after being signed to ZB Label, she beat out thousands of contestant hopefuls and was one of the 96 chosen to participate in Mnet’s “PRODUCE 48,” the most competitive audition show in Korea. AleXa exploded onto the scene with her multilingual debut, “Bomb," in October of 2019, breaking into the Top 10 of Billboard’s “World Digital Song Sales Chart” within its first week of release. In 2020, AleXa inked a deal with ICM Partners, home to an all-star roster of award-winning artists including Nicki Minaj and Khalid, to set a global debut in motion. AleXa is also set to appear in her first acting role on the second season of Netflix’s chart-topping horror anthology series “Goedam.” 

Previously named by Elle as an artist who’s “breaking the mold of the typical K-pop star;” AleXa’s song “Wonderland” earned a resounding win on NBC’s American Song Contest in 2022, a remake of Europe's hugely popular Eurovision Song Contest. “Wonderland” ranked #38 on Billboard’s Pop Airplay Chart, propelling AleXa to the 6th most played Korean artist on U.S. Radio, and the first female Korean act to present at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards.
