The Number Twelve Looks Like You Return After Five Years With New Single/Video For "Eyes On The Fireworks"
PROGRESSIVE METALCORE BAND THE NUMBER TWELVE LOOKS LIKE YOU
RELEASE BRAND NEW SINGLE, “EYES ON THE FIREWORKS”
Legendary New York-based independent rock label Equal Vision Records and The Number Twelve Looks Like You are excited to present “Eyes On The Fireworks,” the brand new politically-charged single from the New Jersey-based metalcore band. "Americans often assert that our claim to being the greatest country in the world rests on our freedom,” frontman Jesse Korman states. “The term ‘freedom’ is almost synonymous with the United States, as if it encapsulates all that truly matters. However, issues such as healthcare, affordable housing, gun violence, drug addiction, and unemployment persist. Despite these challenges, we continue to celebrate each summer with beach outings, fireworks, and barbecues, proclaiming our freedom, even as our nation engages in foreign conflicts. So let’s just keep our eyes on the fireworks!" Watch the music video for “Eyes On The Fireworks” directed by Jaakko Manninen’s Wordup.Video on YouTube HERE.
A progressive metalcore band from New Jersey, The Number Twelve Looks Like You has carved a niche in the heavy music scene with their eclectic blend of mathcore, grindcore, and experimental elements. Formed in 2001, the group quickly earned a reputation for their chaotic live performances and intricate compositions, drawing influences from jazz, classical, and avant-garde music. After a hiatus beginning in 2010, they made a triumphant return in 2016, reuniting their fervent fanbase and releasing the critically acclaimed album, Wild Gods, in 2019. Known for their genre-defying sound and relentless innovation, The Number Twelve Looks Like You continues to push the boundaries of heavy music, captivating audiences with their technical prowess and unpredictable songwriting.
Despite the challenges, Jesse Korman (vocals) and Alexis Pareja (guitars) have continued with The Number Twelve Looks Like You for over two decades while navigating adulthood. The release of Wild Gods was followed by the onset of a global pandemic and making touring difficult. This period of reflection, combined with feeling musically stagnant, led them to ponder their futures and what mattered most. They realized the need to create new music that demonstrated true progression, mirroring their personal growth and changes. With the addition of new members Michael DeMarco (drums) and Cody McCorry (bass), the band experienced a rebirth, reflecting their evolution both individually and musically. “Eyes On The Fireworks” is an emphatic testament to this progression.
