DORA JAR RELEASES NEW SINGLE RAGDOLL

DEBUT ALBUM NO WAY TO RELAX WHEN YOU ARE ON FIRE OUT SEPTEMBER 13 VIA ISLAND RECORDS

‘BEHIND THE CURTAIN’ NORTH AMERICAN HEADLINE TOUR THIS FALL

Today, rising indie-pop sensation Dora Jar releases a new single “Ragdoll” ahead of her long-awaited debut album No Way To Relax When You Are On Fire, out September 13 via Island Records. Starry eyed and tender with a glitzy breakbeat, “Ragdoll” symbolizes the introspective singer-songwriter’s feelings about her place in the world. “Ragdoll is about me feeling sometimes powerless in my own life,” Dora explains. “And also finding the power in going with the flow. If I don’t have control let me just swing around and decide I’m ok with this.”

In line with the forthcoming record’s internal questioning and existential themes, “Ragdoll” tugs at the complexities of identity. Dora adds, “It also plays with an oxymoron at one point. ‘You can let me fall, heavy little ragdoll.’ A ragdoll wouldn’t be heavy, but I feel that way, these opposing contradictions. I did Ketamine therapy with my mom, and it made me feel like a wooden balloon. It brought up all these contradictions within me. I’m shy and outgoing. I’m light and I’m heavy.” Listen to “Ragdoll” HERE and watch the accompanying visualizer HERE.

“Ragdoll” arrives on the heels of Dora’s phenomenal festival debut at Lollapalooza and follows the release of single and visualizer “Timelapse” — a cinematic ode to her time living in New York City exploring the eternal question of “Who Am I?”. Both “Ragdoll” and “Timelapse” join previously released singles “She Loves Me” and “Puppet” on her debut album No Way To Relax When You Are On Fire—pre-save HERE. Dora’s ‘Behind The Curtain’ North American headline tour, kicks off September 22 in Boston. Catch a snippet of “Ragdoll” as well as her tour announcement in the album trailer HERE.

Born in New York but raised in LA, the 24-year-old singer’s formative sound has already captured the attention of NPR, The New York Times, W Magazine, Billboard, Pigeons & Planes, Pitchfork and more. Dora quickly grew an audience with gentle indie rock tracks like “Multiply”, and her eclectic, playful, but mature songwriting skills led to the release of her debut EP, Digital Meadow in 2021, followed by 2022’s comfortably in pain. Over the course of 2022, she blessed fans with alluring singles Bumblebee, Bump and Spell”, and joined Billie Eilish on her 'Happier Than Ever World Tour' in the US, Australia, and New Zealand. After selling out her first North American headline tour in 2022, Dora embarked on a national arena tour with The 1975 in 2023, playing sold-out shows at legendary venues like TD Garden in Boston and Madison Square Garden in New York City. With an electrifying festival debut under her belt, and a debut album and headline tour on the horizon, Dora Jar is gearing up for an exciting next chapter in 2024.
