ABOUT TY SUNDERLAND:
One of dance music’s most important personalities, the DJ and producer Ty Sunderland has skyrocketed into the upper echelons of dance culture with a fervent following, trademark sound and a stunning rise from underground party promoter and DJ to a bona fide global force bubbling into the mainstream. Anointed by Dua Lipa as a “Titan of Queer nightlife” with BuzzFeed calling him “New York City’s Biggest Queer DJ,” Sunderland’s foundational vision single-handedly coalesced the Big Apple queer scene with his iconic Heaven on Earth affairs, an underground late-night bash at the restaurant China Chalet which GQ called a “party epicenter.” Laying the foundation for a community-building universe, Ty’s nightlife footprint has exploded into a series of viral themed boat-bashes, as well as the popular parties Ty Tea, Love Prism, Devil’s Playground, the latter having counted Ava Max and Natasha Bedingfield as special guests. In addition to his gargantuan annual Planet Pride, Sunderland has made memorable appearances nationwide, from opening for Jessie Ware on her That! Feels Good! Tour to a memorable set at Coachella, along the way appearing with fellow tastemakers Galantis, Kim Petras and Rebecca Black.
In tandem, Sunderland has produced a series of inescapable official remixes for a bevy of superstars, from his spin on Kelly Clarkson’s emotional “mine” from her acclaimed album Chemistry to Faouzia’s earth-shaking “La La La” and VINCINT’s energetic love anthem “Higher.” It’s a hot streak that continues in 2024 with the release of his collaboration with Galantis in the form of a Pride Pack via Atlantic Records in which he puts his touch on two tracks for the superstar dance duo: “Lighter” (featuring David Guetta and 5 Seconds of Summer) and “One Cry” (with Rosa Linn). It’s no wonder why everyone from The New York Times to PAPER has showered Sunderland with praise as he continues his relentless march upwards and further bridges the gap between a community he helped create and the culture he vibrantly fosters.
ABOUT GALANTIS:
Galantis, the genre-bending dance music project of Christian Karlsson (aka Bloodshy), has been universally celebrated as one of the most innovative of the past decade. RIAA gold-certified debut album Pharmacy reached No. 1 on the Billboard Dance album chart on the strength of gold-certified single “Peanut Butter Jelly” and 3x platinum certified smash “Runaway (U & I),” while 2017’s sophomore album The Aviary (featuring platinum-certified single “No Money”) saw a top 10 debut in 23 countries. The third Galantis album, 2020’s Church, featured the chart-topping gold-certified single “Faith” with country music icon Dolly Parton featuring Mr. Probz, which saw a #1 debut on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Chart before quickly reaching #1 on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay Chart where it remained for 5 weeks. Meanwhile, gold-certified collaborative single “Heartbreak Anthem” with David Guetta & Little Mix proved a global sensation, spending 10 weeks on the Billboard Global 200 chart and 13 consecutive weeks in the top 10 on the UK Official Chart. Galantis’ latest LP, Rx, is Karlsson’s most deeply personal creation to date. Featuring pop banger “Lighter” with David Guetta and 5 Seconds of Summer which landed No.1 on the US Dance Radio chart, the album is a mind-bending shot to the synapses.
Galantis has received over 7.3 billion cumulative worldwide streams and over 1.9 billion video views to date, with Karlsson at the helm of the project since 2012 before officially debuting at 2014’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. His career has simultaneously spanned across the musical genres of punk-rock, hip-hop and pop – including work as one half of acclaimed production duo Bloodshy & Avant and one third of indie pop band Miike Snow. Karlsson’s songwriting/production credits have included the likes of Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Katy Perry and extensive work with Britney Spears (including “Toxic” which earned a GRAMMY for “Best Dance Recording” and her widely acclaimed 2007 album Blackout). Declared “pop’s mastermind producer” by UPROXX, “eternally effervescent” by Billboard and “one of the most influential and untamed voices in modern music” by GRAMMY.com, the Swedish-born artist continues to evolve and push the boundaries of songwriting within the world of dance music and beyond.
