PRODUCED BY EAR DRUMMERS

Igniting a bold and bright creative chapter, two-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated multi-platinum superstar Coi Leray serves up her anxiously awaited new Lemon Cars EP out today via Island Records. Listen HERE.

It stands out as her most dynamic, diverse, and definitive body of work to date joining forces with Ear Drummers [Travis Scott, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B] behind the board to bring the EP to life. Among the many highlights, the flirty "We Time" illuminates her versatility. She seamlessly alternates between head-spinning cadences and breezy melodies. Leray flaunts her high register on the chorus as she admits, “I need we time, take your sweet time. Elsewhere, she lyrically bulldozes the synth-laden beat on “Coke Bottle Body.” The energy heightens on the hook as she chants, “Coke bottle body how she shakes like that.” Then, there’s “Poster Girl.” Once again, she confidently levels up. Wavy acoustic guitar underscores her captivating vocal performance as she exhales, “Can’t get over her, he just stare all night long.”

She recently set the stage for the project with the opener and introspective single “Lemon Cars,” which emphasizes her artistic evolution, growth, and empowerment through personal discovery. The latter has already gathered over 1 million total streams in addition to over 960K YouTube views on the music video. Plus, it garnered widespread critical acclaim. UPROXX spotlighted how “she’s been known to dabble in other genres, and that’s exactly what she does for this sympathetic review of a strip club employee’s nightly struggles” here. The Honey Pop raved, “Coi Leray just dropped her latest hit, and we can’t stop listening! ‘Lemon Cars’ is about women empowerment and lifting up all the girl bosses in your life!” here. Ratings Game Music put it best, “Coi Leray seems poised to conquer the world” here.

Metaphorically symbolized by the Lemon, the new EP aims to uplift listeners and those working on self-reflection and devotion to becoming the best versions of themselves. As a longtime advocate for empowering girls and women, Leray utilizes this new record and project as a vehicle for sharing her journey to self-love and acceptance.

Showing no signs of slowing down, following the Lemon Cars release, she will join Jhene Aiko on her 27-stop The Magic Hour Tour. The tour kicks off on June 19th in Detroit and features Leray as one of the tour co-stars alongside Tink, Umi and Kiana Lede.

ABOUT COI LERAY:

Kicking off the year with two Grammy nominations (“Best Rap Performance” for her massive hit “Players” and “Best Pop Dance Recording” for “Baby Don't Hurt Me” with David Guetta and Anne Marie), a new label, her debut at Coachella, a nomination for iHeartRadio’s 2024 Awards (“Dance Song Of The Year” with “Baby Don’t Hurt Me”), and now a brand new track, 2024 is shaping up to be a massive year for Coi Leray.

This new era (which Coi refers to as her “grown & sexy era”) follows a successful 2023 for Coi with the release of her album, COI, which debuted on the Billboard 200, and the chart-topping success of her RIAA-certified platinum hit “Players” (now Grammy-nominated). The track earned her first Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 with her highest charting single to date landing at #9 and dominated the radio with three consecutive weeks at #1 on Rhythmic Radio, #1 on Urban Radio, #1 on the Billboard Hot Rap Songs Chart, and #5 on Billboard’s Radio Chart.

She continued to make waves throughout the year with major festival performances such as Rolling Loud California, Austin City Limits, Summer Jam and more as well as joining the lineup at Jay-Z’s Made In America and Kid Cudi’s Moon Man’s Landing. Coi also became the voice of the WNBA’s “More Than Game” campaign ahead of their 2023 season and continues to build her resume in the fashion space with her collaboration with FENDI by Marc Jacobs for their Summer Capsule collection. You can also hear Coi on the big screen, with her collaboration with Metro Boomin on their song “Self Love”, as part of the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse soundtrack.
