The legendary musician Bruce Hornsby’s new 2024 tour dates in support of the 25th anniversary and reissue of his seminal album, Spirit Trail, have just been announced and are on sale now. The run of dates between June and September will see Bruce and his band, The Noisemakers, perform in Madison, WI, Boulder, CO, Portland, OR, Louisville, KY, Charlotte, NC, Washington, DC and a two night run at the iconic Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA. The 25th Anniversary Edition of Spirit Trail was released last fall on a 3-CD set and a 3-LP set. Originally released in 1998, Bruce’s sixth album spanned twenty tracks, describing the record to Rolling Stone as “...very Southern so there's a lot of songs about race, religion, judgment and tolerance," he said. "And sort of my own personal struggles with some of these issues -- or observing others with the issues.” Last year, Hornsby chatted with Parke Puterbaugh for a Q&A about the 25th Anniversary Edition. This announcement comes on the heels of the release of Deep Sea Vents via Zappo Productions/Thirty Tigers, a collaborative album with experimental chamber music group, yMusic. The project, entitled BrhyM, is an album of 10 songs about water and the ways we live with, in, or against it. Deep Sea Vents is Hornsby and yMusic as you have never heard them but also instantly identifiable in their own ways. The album was produced by Hornsby and Rob Moose and recorded in both Williamsburg, VA and in New York, NY. It features additional contributions from jazz legend Branford Marsalis, Mark Dover and drummer Chad Wright. Buy/stream Deep Sea Vents HERE and watch the album trailer (directed by Steven Mertens) HERE. Deep Sea Vents singles include “The Wild Whaling Life” and “Deep Blue”. Bruce Hornsby and yMusic are currently on the road as BrhyM with the first show in Urbana, IL this week and a wrap in Denver, CO on April 23rd. Hornsby recently appeared at Celtic Connections in January and at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Bruce also kicked off BBC Radio 2’s Piano Room month with a performance life from the Maida Vale Studios with the BBC Concert Orchestra in Vernon Kay’s mid-morning Radio 2 show - the most listened-to radio program in the UK.
