Today (1 Mar), YOVA release their guest-studded second release ‘Dreamcatchers’ on all services.
Marking the release, the alternative pop duo of Mark Vernon and Jova Radevska have shared a special rendition of one its featured highlights “Maybe”, with an accompanying video.

A twisted love song knotted with all the enigmas and enchantments that tie us up in the most complex relationships, “Maybe” is the final insight into YOVA’s eagerly anticipated new album.
Combining slinky post-rock guitar licks reminiscent of latter-day Radiohead with swelling string arrangements courtesy of the PJ Harvey-approved maestro Rob Ellis, YOVA describe the track as:
“A burst of chamber-pop featuring Rob Ellis’s beautiful string arrangements, the onde-Martenot, glockenspiel and baritone guitar."
Tapping into the song’s mysterious, otherworldly qualities, it is accompanied by a fantastical themed official video by directors Thomas James Linton and Philip Reinking. Lost deep in a woodland with supernatural forces at play, it follows the band’s own Jova Radevska as she orientates herself in this strange new environment - with a helping hand or two… Watch it here: https://youtu.be/o1F-LkN8LNM?si=pNTmO32g6vew3glp.
Released in Europe last year, “Maybe” has already amassed over 100,000 streams and counting. It will feature alongside the band’s earlier singles “Dream Catchers”, “Hurt Like No Hurt”, “Addictions” and “Feel Your Fear” on YOVA’s ‘Dreamcatchers’ album, which is out tomorrow.
A natural evolution from the band’s debut ‘Nine Lives’, new album ‘Dreamcatchers’ finds the duo entering another  realm of their own. A record that aims to take listeners on an "immersive journey deep into the altered state of our subconscious lives”, its 9 songs spiral and metamorphose through lush chamber-pop to mediaeval folk, dreamy electronica, afrobeat, esoteric jazz and so much more. Darting between the brooding and the upbeat, the storm and the calm, the hopeful and transcendental, it provides a vivid reflection of our dreamlike state. As Mark Vernon states: “As with dream-patterns, nothing stays the same for long in YOVA’s sonic world.”
Produced by YOVA in collaboration with Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey, Marianne Faithful), Alex Thomas (John Cale, Anna Calvi), and Martin McDougall, the record features a stellar cast of like-minded musicians including Terry Edwards (Nick Cave, Gallon Drunk, The Jesus & Mary Chain), James Sedwards (Thurston Moore Group / This Is Not This Heat), and Daniel O’Sullivan ( Grumbling Fur, Sunn o)) ).
Already praised by Louder Than War as “a stunning album filled with layers of sound and scope" (4*), The Crack Magazine added “It’s thoroughly dreamlike throughout but underpinned by some gorgeously melodic tunes that unfurl like flowers in the sun…. they’ve all well and truly pulled out some stops”.
Recorded and mixed 2021-23 between home studios in Dorset and London, ‘Dreamcatchers’ will finally land on 1 March 2024.

YOVA are Jova Radevska and Mark Vernon. Vernon is a multi instrumentalist and seasoned veteran of the alternative music scene who has managed and recorded with John Cale and co-produced PJ Harvey’s first single “Dress” off her debut album ‘Dry’. A chance encounter with Macedonian vocalist and lyricist Jova paved the way for their bewitching collaboration.
Their debut album ‘Nine Lives’ was released in late 2021 to praise from the likes of Louder Than War, Electronic Sound and MOJO, with the latter hailing the album as “a beguiling debut from a duo of sonic adventurers” in their four star review.
The band’s video for previous single “An Innocent Man” also scooped the Best Animation Music Video at the New York Animation Awards 2022.
Their latest album ‘Dreamcatchers’ is available everywhere from 1 March 2024, via Yova Music. The band will be launching the album with a very special show at The Troubadour, London on 12 March, where they will be playing tracks from across the record, plus previously unheard music. Tickets are on sale now here.
