‘You Drove An Hour Trip’ dives deep into personal narratives that have shaped Peri Rae's past relationships, delivering an intimate listening experience that will speak to listeners from all walks of life. Today’s single marks the second release leading up to her highly anticipated upcoming project, following the success of her previous single, ‘Sober Hope’. Rising indie rock singer/songwriter Peri Rae is making waves with her unapologetic sound, blending raw emotion with sharp, observational lyrics. Drawing inspiration from her favourite artists—Phoebe Bridgers, Arctic Monkeys, and Fontaines D.C.—Peri fuses emotional storytelling with explosive guitar riffs, creating a sound uniquely her own.

This summer has been monumental for Peri and her band, with electrifying performances on main stages at major festivals like Great Estate and Rock Oyster. Selected by BBC Introducing, Peri also took the stage at the iconic Boardmasters, solidifying her presence in the live music scene. She is supporting Kevin Garrett on his UK tour this September.

An entirely independent artist, her debut EP, ‘Handing You My Heart’, smashed expectations, amassing over 1 million streams in its first week on Spotify and landing coveted spots on top playlists like ‘New Music Friday’, ‘Our Generation’, and ‘Fresh Folk.’ The momentum continued to build with her highly anticipated sophomore EP, ‘i moved to the beach,’ for which she sold out two consecutive nights of 100-cap headline shows in London.

With critical acclaim pouring in from Rolling Stone, who hailed her as “an artist you have to meet,” Peri’s rise shows no signs of slowing. Her first release became a viral TikTok sensation, garnering over 10 million views and catching the attention of Alfie Templeman, who personally invited her to open for him on tour. She has also opened for Kevin Garrett on his UK tour and Nathan Ball this year. 

Adding to her rising star power, Peri has been nominated for a Youth Music Award and has been personally invited to perform one of her songs at the upcoming ceremony. With accolades continuing to roll in, the future looks incredibly bright for this young artist.
