'I'm Not Always Sad, Sometimes I'm Angry' is a bit tongue in cheek, but it’s also the truth! While my previous songs might suggest I live in constant melancholy, this EP proves the opposite, delving into emotions beyond sadness - like anger, frustration, and a raw sense of empowerment. Some of the tracks were devastating to write, while others filled me with an energy I’ve never felt before. I'm incredibly proud of this collection because it’s honest and different, revealing new facets of my healing journey and a side of me no one’s seen until now. My favourite song on it is 'Sweet Nothing.' Despite being fuelled by anger and a tough story, I had the most fun writing it, and performing it is even better. It’s given me a sense of empowerment and sass that I’ve never fully allowed myself to feel before." - Kings Elliot
In this new body of work, Kings Elliot once again proves why she resonates so deeply with a generation navigating the complexities of mental health, identity, and empowerment. Each track, from the introspective ‘Enough’ to the poetic ‘I Hate The Sun’, reveals another layer of the artist’s inner world, with lyrical honesty and depth that invites listeners to reflect on their own experiences. Her fans, dubbed ’Sick Puppies’, have already embraced earlier singles like ‘Never Be Mine’ creating a wave of excitement leading up to this full release.

I dove headfirst into new lyrical and sonic territories, and in the process, I unleashed a side of myself I've never shown before. It’s raw, fierce, and unapologetic, and I’ve loved every second of letting go and exploring these untamed emotions. This song has been a bold, freeing experience, and I can’t wait for people to hear it."

More about Kings Elliot…
Kings Elliot has always been deeply interested in what makes a song, starting at around the age of seven. Growing up in a small Swiss town with her British mother, she kept a thick binder with all the songs she liked, after printing out the lyrics to reflect on why they resonated with her so much. "I’m kind of obsessed with lyrics and melodies. It’s always been that way." She was also obsessed with creating worlds and escaping into her imagination, something she carries into her musical endeavors, reflected in the artwork of her singles, which show a sprite-sized version of the artist in forests, surrounded by depictions of real animals she has rescued.
Through her dedication to the craft of songwriting and building a community, she has already managed to engage fans around the world, who refer to themselves as "sick puppies" and gather at her shows and in her weekly Twitch stream to discuss the highs and lows of their lives. Kings Elliot and her unique artistry has been celebrated over the years by celebrities like Reese Witherspoon and Lewis Capaldi, labeled as a "future star" by BBC Radio, with her songs featured in TV hits like Grey's Anatomy, and even contributing the theme song for the video game blockbuster The Callisto Protocol.
After supporting Imagine Dragons in stadiums around the world, touring with rising troubadour Stephen Sanchez in North America, and opening for her hero, Lana Del Rey at her historic Hyde Park gig, Kings Elliot made the decision to take some necessary time to focus on her mental health. Now, she is back, stronger than ever, looking forward to releasing exciting new music and returning to the stages she has missed so much.
