LISTEN HERE

sunsetto releases his debut album THE SUN, THE MOON AND THE BIG MACHINE. Delivering a bold project that blends introspective lyricism with expansive production, the album invites listeners on a vivid journey through love, ambition, and the digital age.

This album isn’t just a collection of songs; it’s a conceptual exploration of three powerful forces intertwining warm love and energy with big dreams that may seem impossible to attain. “I needed to tell a story through the lens of my experiences, navigating the push and pull of chasing dreams while still craving something real,” says sunsetto. “We consume so much daily and often take for granted what’s around us; I wanted to capture those neglected moments.”

Recorded between Los Angeles and Toronto over the past year, sunsetto’s recent releases have resonated with a new generation of pop fans. His heartfelt narratives and compelling sound reflect a deep understanding of today’s listeners, and this debut album is a significant career milestone.

The standout track “CROSSFIRE,” co-written and produced by 9AM (Leon Bridges, Noah Cyrus), encapsulates the essence of sunsetto’s artistry. Watch the stunning music video here. “It dives deep into the idea of lost potential and the choices that shape our paths,” sunsetto explains. “It’s a raw reflection of my own experiences, feeling caught between my dreams and reality."

With a blend of emotional depth and melodic innovation, sunsetto is set to carve out his own space in the alt-pop music scene. As he steps into the spotlight, he invites listeners to join him on this journey, where every track opens a window into his world.

About sunsetto:
Few artists capture the zeitgeist like Toronto-based singer, songwriter, and producer sunsetto (Kyle Mischiek). Growing up on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, sunsetto split his time between music and skateboarding – and cultivated a community through both. After trying (and quitting) guitar and piano lessons, he started to rap and make beats in high school. He later attended several songwriting camps hosted by GRAMMY® and JUNO Award-winning songwriter Gordie Sampson (Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban) to continue to hone his skills.

sunsetto first made waves in 2020 when his debut single "don't leave" went viral, racking up hundreds of thousands of streams. Since then, his innovative sound has caught the attention of tastemakers like EARMILK and Fashionably Early, establishing him as a rising force in alt-pop.

While his sound is full-on forward-thinking pop—pulling from an all-over-the-map list of genres such as dance, rap, R&B and modern country—his lyrical themes dip and twist from the joyful to the profound.

This year’s releases, “PLANS,” “POTENTIAL,” “GREEN TEXTS,” “DON’T LEAVE ME BEHIND” feat Sinéad Harnett, “BIG MACHINE” and “SHE’S THE WHOLE WORLD” are a testament to the way in which sunsetto’s finger is on the pulse of a new generation of pop fans, as he gears up for a new chapter in music with his debut album THE SUN, THE MOON AND THE BIG MACHINE, out now.
