“LOVE LIKE THIS” FOLLOWS THE RELEASE OF THE BAND’S DEBUT EP HEALING

Still abuzz from 2022 – which saw Alexandra John (Twin siblings Liza & Weston Cain) release three major singles as well as one highly anticipated debut EP & their latest single “Lonely Night,” the infectious indie electro-pop duo is excited to premiere their newest single, “Love Like This.”

Along with its accompanying official animation video & performance video, “Love Like This” officially drops on Friday, September 22nd.

The duo mentions, "Love Like This," is a tale of someone who is lucky enough to find their special someone. “With this song we wanted to transport people back in time while maintaining a fresh sound,” says Liza and Weston.

“We really wanted to think outside the box with our video. We've been wanting to do an animation music video for a while & 'Love Like This,' felt like the perfect fit. We worked with Oteg Agency, who really brought our vision to life. The story starts in a swamp with two frogs from opposite sides of the pond and they both catch each other’s eye. They jump in the water after one another & shortly after fall in love. They stumble upon a party in the forest, where they meet many other creatures all looking for a good time. The video follows them to the dance floor where Alexandra John is performing, accompanied by a very talented band of frogs. The video concludes with them floating off into the sunrise, further showing they really do have a love like this.”

With their performance video, Alexandra John wanted to recreate the animation video into real life, with a performance in a magical forest. The video was shot, edited & styled by The Sisters Closet. 

Alexandra John, partnered again with artists, 504 Horns, musicians Jason Parfait & Ian Smith to continue to keep their sound cohesive while bringing a taste of retro vibes with a modern twist. “Love Like This” goes out to those romantics who’ve either found their special someone or those still looking. Encouraging everyone to never give up & let them know that eventually they will find their person, it maybe they just haven’t met them yet.

“Love Like This” is Alexandra John’s second release since dropping their debut EP, Healing, last December. Raised in a musical household in San Francisco, Liza, and Weston both have music traversing through their DNA. Liza spent much of her childhood dancing, acting, and singing in the performing arts, as well as playing the piano. Weston, a seasoned instrumentalist, has been playing the drums since the age of four, picking up other instruments – like the guitar and the piano – as he grew older.

Together, as Alexandra John, Liza and Weston create music that inspires and illuminates the soul.

Currently based in Los Angeles, Alexandra John is dedicated to sharing their music with the world. The band draws influence from legendary artists such as, Earth, Wind & Fire, Bee Gees, Chaka Khan & Stevie Wonder to newer influences such as, Daft Punk, Calvin Harris, Dua Lipa, Dabuell & SJ Lewis. Alexandra John continues to cross sonic boundaries while staying true to their authentic roots.
