WALTER THE PRODUCER RELEASES OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO FOR "SINCE SEPTEMBER"

“I had a crazy overwhelming September last year.” That’s pretty much all Walter The Producer has to say about his single “Since September,” which appears on his viral debut project, No Substance Mixtape.

The official music video for “Since September” is out now.

Walter The Producer doesn’t need to say much more: His music speaks for itself. The 20-year-old pop artist seems to have created a sound all his own – an undeniably infectious blend of indie, disco-pop, and alt-R&B that has compelled the music world to stand up, take notice, and dance.

“Since September” already has hundreds of thousands of streams on Spotify alone, while Walter The Producer – brand new on the scene - has already garnered over 200K monthly listeners.

In the video, we see Walter hiding inside his apartment, finding creative ways to occupy his time while an apocalypse rages outside. He gradually transitions from bored to unstable, as he starts to lose his mind. Feeling an eerie presence at the door, Walter is overtaken by paranoia, grabs his gun, and kicks open the door, only to discover that – SPOILER ALERT – there is no apocalypse.

Born and raised about 20 minutes south of Boston, Walter The Producer – whose real name is Reid - started playing guitar and piano at the age of 10. He started making beats at 13.

“My friend taught me how to crack Logic Pro for free,” he shares.

Despite the success of No Substance Mixtape and the impressive number of personal playlists he’s landed on, Walter The Producer still thinks his greatest achievement is earning the Coaches Award for 8th grade basketball.

“At 20 years old, much of Walter The Producer is an enigma,” proclaims ONES TO WATCH.

“Producing, mixing, and mastering the project himself, his music is all we truly know of him, though luckily, it’s dense enough to glean a good picture. He has the ability to both feel deeply yet alchemize that emotion into funk, from soul-consuming yearning to heart-wrenching disappointment."
