As of late, Eden has excelled in the live space, having sold out her headline show at The Lower Third in London on the 14th November and having played Oporto in Leeds last night. In true Eden Rain fashion, she put on a show packed with amusing, engaging anecdotes, DIY animations and visuals and of course, an intimate display of her signature spellbinding vocals. Her London show was praised by The New Age Magazine, as journalist, Jessica Blissitt wrote: “The unique voice I’d come to love, truly bloomed in a live setting where she could fully explore new riffs and tremolos.”

“There is a joke that my dad always makes about a parrot. It’s a stupid joke that doesn’t make sense but the joke is -’I used to be a parrot but I’m alright now’. And you repeat that over and over … just like a parrot repeating that phrase ..?. Growing up I never actually understood the joke but I went along with it. I remember being in a session earlier this year and suddenly understanding it and calling my dad so excited to tell him."
"I think a lot about that phrase ‘but I’m alright now’ a lot. It reminds me of faking it until you make it and trying to convince everyone that you’re doing better and in a different place. I called the EP ‘but I’m alright now’ because it’s about making peace with the past. Most of the songs on the were written about chaotic events, difficult situations and times where I’ve felt out of control. Part of the EP is me making peace with these things and trying to show others and myself that I’m different and moved on. That I’m not just defined by a combination of bad things that have happened to me. Proud and pleased to say that on a good day, I think I actually am ‘alright now’. The parrot joke is still a really bad joke though.”
This stunning new body of work is made up of formally released, fan favourite singles ‘Terry And Julie’ , ‘I Found My Brain’, ‘Pet Names’, and her most recent poetically striking release ‘All Things Change’, which was described by Clout Magazine as ‘a track steeped in composure and thoughtful allure’. These singles cohesively run alongside a brand new single titled ‘Ghost Girl’, which see’s Eden taking a more subtle and eerie approach with her sound. Together, the EP offers a beautifully eclectic listening experience, full of personality and style.

Raised in Yorkshire, Eden jokingly describes her early musical upbringing as having a “Von Trapp vibe”, full of long car journeys packed with family sing-alongs to homemade mixtapes, and multi-part harmonies sung with her siblings; “a lovely wholesome relationship with music,” she nods. Having been an avid writer of teenage poetry, she admits with only a mild cringe, it was when she sang Carole King’s ‘You’ve Got A Friend’ at a talent show aged 13 that she began to tie the ideas of writing and performing in her mind. Eden started taking piano lessons and, a couple of years later, began to pen her own music.
If some artists seem to emerge preposterously young and fully-formed, then the fact that it took Eden a while to evolve into the confident artist, sure of her own musical mindset, that she stands as now feels important. She recalls “overthinking it a lot, trying to fit into a niche that already existed” and coming out feeling empty. “The artist I wanna be is a bit rough around the edges - hopefully in a good way,” she continues. “Who I am as a person is a bit of a patchwork quilt of different things. I used to polish myself up for people, but then I looked around and the things that my friends like about me is that I’m a bit frazzled and slightly chaotic; I wanted to lean into that a bit more because that’s more genuinely who I am.”
