Have you been listening to Dasha album Dirty Blonde? Let's fix it

Since releasing her hugely successful EP $hiny Things in 2021, Anna Dasha Novotny – known simply as Dasha – has been perfecting her sound and meticulously crafting dozens of new songs. 17 of those songs appear on her much-anticipated full-length debut album Dirty Blonde, which officially drops on Friday, January 27.

I’ve been perfecting the sound and writing the songs for Dirty Blonde for almost two years now -- over 200 songs were written to find the ones you hear on the album,” shares Dasha.

“The album is all about juxtaposition. The dark and the light. The screaming and then the crying. Breaking up and then falling in love. Seduction followed by innocence. The dirty and the blonde. I rediscovered my love for country music writing Dirty Blonde and you can hear the influence in the music, along with punk, R&B, and of course pop.”

Dasha is poised to be a hitmaker with her refreshing authenticity. She is a masterful storyteller, which is apparent on every track of Dirty Blonde.

Make a Scene,” a standout track with a soon-to-be-released video, finds Dasha in top form.

“I wrote the song with The Gifted in L.A., and I remember going home that night and listening back to the rough day bounce but instantly knew this song would be an integral part of my debut album. I had the title/lyric in my song ideas in my Notes app for months. I pulled inspiration from the golden age of Hollywood in both production and lyrical choices. There’s something so timeless about that era that’s so inspiring to my artistry. 'Make A Scene' is all about wanting to show someone off to the world in the most confident and glamorous way – ‘Darling let’s make a scene.’”

It’s no wonder that Dasha is such a masterful storyteller. Having grown up in San Luis Obispo, California, Dasha was immersed in the world of dance, acting, and music. She began writing and performing at the age of 12 with help from her older brother and producer, Bardo (Beauty School Dropout).

Over the last two years, Dasha has garnered hundreds of thousands of adoring TikTok and Spotify fans. Her music has been featured on an exciting array of playlist spots and hit major streaming milestones, resulting in features in NYLON, UPROXX, MTV, Earmilk, American Songwriter, Ones To Watch, Sweetyhigh, and many more.

Dasha also released an electro-pop cover of R.E.M. 's “Losing My Religion" which has amassed nearly two million streams on Spotify exhibiting the demand of her versatility in the pop sphere. She has collaborated with a variety of artists, including Pink Slip, Inverness, Taska Black, Sam Sumser (Lizzo), The Gifted (Kygo, Tate McRae), Ayokay, Loren, Taylor Bickett, The Nicholas (San Holo, Golden Vessel), Beauty School Dropout (Trevor Daniels, jxdn, Lauren Sanderson), Nick Lopez, Lauren Spencer-Smith, and Nickolas Wheeler (All American Rejects).

Dasha is set to perform two album release shows for Dirty Blonde. Catch her on January 29 at The Moroccan Lounge in L.A., and on February 15 at The Mercury Lounge in NYC.
