#Fridayfeature Kay Nambiar isn't just Speaking in Tongues but moving with magic, hear his latest here
The song is a haunting and contemplative piece written by Kay after attending a party that left him feeling paranoid and unable to fall asleep. “Speaking In Tongues” is a stunning stripped-back introduction to Kay’s delicate and airy vocals accompanied by soft guitar strumming. But that’s what the press release state. what’s our opinion of Kay’s song? Actually, it’s very similar. We found ourselves feeling uneasy and yet intrigued by the tones and lyrics pushing us back and forth like an ocean shoreline.
Known best for his work as a photographer and model having collaborated with some of the world’s most renowned artists and brands — from Calvin Klein to Cartier and international publications including Vogue and Numéro — Kay makes a shift in his multi-disciplinary career with the release of “Speaking In Tongues.” Adding solo artist to his repertoire, the track is the first from his forthcoming EP which was written and performed by him alone and evolved organically from voice notes he's recorded on his iPhone over the past five years. The tracks showcase a distinctively melancholic, pared-back but also deeply personal look into the heart of Kay’s music, reminiscent of artists such as Elliot Smith and Sufjan Stevens.
