Des Rocs alive and at the El Club

What a night! The first night on the Alive tour was intense and full of fans who could not wait for Des Roc to get on the stage. Dedicated Facebook fan groups arrive in style as well as their ride (One fan garner the Des Roc licenses plate). The first night was at the legendary El Club in Detroit, the last time we were first introduced to him. Since our first interview, we were beyond excited to finally hear the new songs live. Fans may have only a few days of learning the lyrics but they too killed it. Belting to every song that Des Roc threw out.

Self-recorded, A Real Good Person in a Real Bad Place demonstrates that Des Rocs is in a league of his own. The album is bold and intoxicating, drawing on rock and roll, punk, and electronic music to forge a “bedroom arena rock” sound that’s at once deeply intimate and profoundly expansive. Lead single “MMC” swerves from ferocious to playful and back again as it rails against all things fake and manufactured. The official video showcases a pulse-pounding, genre-bending, performance juxtaposed with a character’s brutal exploration of identity.

“The ‘MMC’ video is all about losing your soul in the quest for fame and sacrificing who you are for what you think others want from you. I wanted to tell this story and show you what a real show feels like, in case ya forgot.”

Kicking off the summer with his DES ROCS ALIVE livestream event, Des immersed fans in an incendiary live performance spectacle with the promise of more to come. His upcoming tour, DES ROCS ALIVE, will hit 20+ iconic venues around the country, ending with a hometown release show at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City on November 4. Des will also be performing at Firefly Music Festival on September 25 in Dover, DE, featuring Billie Eilish, Tame Impala and Lizzo, and at the sold out Aftershock Festival on October 8 alongside Metallica, Rancid, and more. Find a full list of tour dates below and purchase tickets at DesRocs.com.

The album announcement follows the release of three EPs, which have racked up more than 150 million streams, and shows supporting The Rolling Stones, Muse, Grandson, and many more. The title track to Des Rocs’ most recent EP This Is Our Life, has been streamed 6M+ times and hit Top 20 at Active Rock radio and Top 40 at Alternative radio.

If you have not heard our interview with him, let's fix that! We discuss the new album, Inspiration, and more.
