You want a piano version of Mirror by Sigrid? You got it, come see

Four years ago, Sigrid released ‘Dynamite’, the epic piano ballad that showed the world her ability to craft a perfect pop song: with grand lyricism, dramatic choruses and crystalline melodies, all starting life at Sigrid’s piano. ‘Mirror’, the Norwegian sensation’s extraordinary return to the pop arena and fastest growing single to date, is no different. Today, the 24-year-old releases ‘Mirror (By The Piano)’, an acoustic version of the “empowerment anthem of the summer” (Elle), where each lyric is discovered afresh and laid bare with Sigrid’s renowned rasp and soaring vocal talent. The video is directed and produced by CANADA, yet another remarkable collaboration from the award-winning production company, who directed the cinematic visual feast ‘Mirror’ the official video, and explored how conflicting it can feel to have different sides of yourself competing against each other.

“The piano has always been my favourite place to be. It’s where I forget everything that I need to do, or should do.. and it’s kinda the same in the studio when writing songs. I like to check if it works just on the piano, and if the song passes that test, it’s good to go! It’s where I started writing songs when I was 16, and it’s cool to always come back to that space in between all those big, exciting productions..Hope you enjoy this lowkey version of Mirror by the piano!” - Sigrid

The past year has been a time of deep reflection for Sigrid. Since her ascent to pop stardom in 2017, Sigrid achieved every accolade a young artist from a small town off the coast of Norway could ever have imagined. From releasing her critically acclaimed debut EP Don’t Kill My Vibe, to winning the Sound of 2018, performing across the globe at The Royal Variety Show, the Nobel Peace Prize, headlining her first Arena show at 3Arena in Dublin to 12,000 fans, and that Glastonbury performance to 30,000 festival goers and millions at home: Sigrid lit up stages with her non-conformist and progressive attitudes to the femininity in pop. Ending 2019 with a 5* (The Times) headline show at London’s Eventim Apollo, Sigrid hadn’t stopped in four years, but when the world stopped, Sigrid had an identity crisis, as the world turned inwards. “The thing that was most important to me was taken away; touring and travelling and being an artist. I thought, who am I without the music? My self-worth as a human is not just work, but who am I without my job? But last year made me realise I don't want to do anything else. I wanted to do this for the rest of my life.”

As the world moves again, we are all ready to see
