#RisingArtist: Dead Romantic's drop off Yesterday today, come watch with us

Yorkshire, U.K. --- British rock band DEAD ROMANTIC has announced the release of their debut single “Yesterday.” The recording and the song’s accompanying video can be screened here. Dead Romantic’s full-length debut studio album will be globally released on June 25, 2021.

Although the modern rock crew is only freshly formed, they have already amassed a dedicated fanbase. Expressing a sound that draws from the heaviest riffs to radio pop sensibilities, the quartet hits you with a sonic melting pot reminiscent of such acts as 30 Seconds to Mars, Bring Me The Horizon, Foo Fighters, Bad Flower, and Architects. The band’s lead reveals “Yesterday,” which combines powerful riffs, crushing grooves, and anthemic vocals. Dead Romantic is Dan Taylor (vocals), Chris Horrocks (bass), Adam Breeze (drums), and multi-platinum record producer Mike Krompass (lead guitar).

The band’s repertoire is unique but familiar. Some elements inspire, with a touch that’s pure in being heartfelt and personal. Lyrically, the songs can be raw and real, but also poetic. As singer Taylor shares, “Modern, catchy and accessible songs unlike anything else in particular that appeals to a broad spectrum of people. The hooks of pop hits that make people want to sing along, coupled with sick metal breakdowns that make them want to fuck each other up.” Breeze adds, “We aim to deliver music driven by living, breathing human beings playing real instruments, inspiring kids to find their own voice. On stage, a live show that is all-inclusive and relentless with raw energy.” Bassist Horrocks offers, “We are one with the fans, no barrier between us and them - I’m not a fan of bands who distance themselves from their fan base. I think that connection between artist and their fan base is essential for a band to function in the long term.”

Bassist Horrocks continues, “When it comes to musicianship, these songs are difficult to play. A great deal of attention has gone into ensuring the performances captured in the studio are rock solid. Some of my favorite bands, like Metallica and Tool, pride themselves on technical ability, and I would love for Dead Romantic to be seen in that way also.

Producer and guitarist Krompass reflects, “Knowing Dan has been a great development in my life. He's got a spark that not many have He's made me realize that if I have a passion for something, to just put it in and go for it. We have a great writing connection, and I love being in a band with him. Qualities like honesty, commitment, sincerity, being truthful, and trustworthiness are hard to find in a human being, and Dan Taylor encompasses all of these. Beyond the fact that he has a great voice, no shortage of charisma, and is a true artist. Amazing dude.” Taylor adds, “Mike is an awesome musician, great writer, and a crazy talented multi-instrumentalist. He’s forgotten more about music than I’ve ever even known. Adam is a great drummer, a real pro. His dedication is second to none. He’s a real performer, and the kind of drummer I would love to watch from an outside perspective. Chris is one of the liveliest bass players I personally have ever played with, and I think it’s because he just loves the music. He’s also so down to earth and very humble, I think that makes him a great player.”

Bassist Horrocks reveals, “One of the most interesting things to me when being around Mike is how different his background is to mine. Mike is from Canada and has lived in California and Nashville, whereas I have lived in the north of England my entire life. It’s like he’s from a different planet! But Mike has such a wealth of experience. He’s the Jedi master of the band I feel like I have a lot to learn from him. With Dan, he has a great energy to be around. Still serious and motivated, but so light-hearted and ‘bouncy’. In-person he gives off a happy-go-lucky, exciting presence, but when diving into his lyrics and the music surrounding Dead Romantic, he seems to flick a switch and move into a different headspace. Diving deep into a darker space. I can’t wait to see him explore that emotion onstage. With Adam, I often jokingly describe him as ‘Milton Keynes answer to Tommy Lee,’ and I think that’s quite accurate! Adam evokes this aggressive energy in his drumming which is unlike many of the bands I’ve played in previously. Very musically proficient and takes his work very seriously. And he hits the drums very, very, very hard, which is extremely fun to feed off as a bass player.”

The forthcoming DEAD ROMANTIC release, produced by multi-platinum record producer and guitarist Mike Krompass, features collaborations with Zakk Cervini (Yungblud, Bring Me The Horizon, Architects), Emmy winner and six-time Grammy Nominated songwriter Steve Diamond (Orianthi, Eric Clapton) & mastered by Ted Jensen (Bring Me The Horizon, Bad Flower).

Collectively, the band shares, “We approached this with the primary aim of creating the record we’ve always wanted to create - completely unchained, raw, filled with the best elements of everything we love about music. We’ve all come from different musical backgrounds that seem to work together to make DEAD ROMANTIC. There’s a little bit of pop, a little bit of metal and a lot of rock that we hope can connect with people around the globe.” In summation, singer Taylor stresses, “We are real, down-to-earth people. We develop unity with fans, love them as much as they love us and give them our time and attention. And, we’ll see you all out there soon.”
