We a took Social Cues with Cage The Elephants Detroit Show, Here is what we found out

Last night we checked out Cage the Elephants Detroit Show at DTE Energy amphitheater.

No amount of construction or tailgaters could stop the fans from getting into the sold out even at DTE Energy Theater or Pine Knob to most. With high energy of the audience it was only expected that Cage would match that and then some. The stage which had one platform with a set of stairs going up, was decorated with a red carpet bringing the attention to the Jared Champion drum kit with the emblem of the bands name printed. Matt Shultz waltz onto the floor with few odd items in a hand that includes fan and wire umbrella not to mention the black beekeepers mask which lasted for the rest of the first half of the first song. The kicked started the set with Broken boy, Cry Baby and Spiderhead.

Remember that we mention that this was going to be high energy performance? Yeah, scratch that. This was volume level set to eleven, kind of energy. With Matt running back and forth entertaining both sides of the audience with not one ounce of let down. It wasn’t just him as guitarist and brother Brad Shultz right behind jumping off from the stairs and onto the speakers. with just as much spirit. You can hear them shouting out the lyrics way beyond the amphitheater and into the outdoor food courts.

Besides hitting us with the favorites, Cage The Elephants also played a few covers one we could recollect was Queen’s We are the Champions. Now of course they played a few from their fifth album Social Cues. It wouldn’t be later on during Beck’s performance that we would get the chance to see Cage jump in with Night Running being the second from the last song.
